I've seen Mikes SC'd 330ci. I haven't really seen a SC'd 325. I'm not very familiar with Sc/Turbos. My question is, how much does it cost to SC and what kind of HP gains can one expect by putting a SC on a 2003 325i? Also, does it make a difference if it is manual or step?
Not that I'm gonna SC my car, I'm just curious. Thanks!

SC's new will range from the 5K to 8K dependent on system and boost, intercoolers, etc. You hp gain on a 325i will be around 80hp. Not worth it really, you still won't hang with M3's.

the power increase will definately be something you'll feel. if you have the money, go for it. and the increase in power will be around ~100 hp for manual, and ~80 hp for autos (if you want to play it safe, that is the only reason autos get lower power gains: a bigger pulley producing less boost)

Mr. Paddleshift here has no problems with his supercharged 2001 325i. He's running 300HP at the crank which is 116HP more than stock. At the wheels, there's more drivetrain loss with an auto, so its about a 93HP gain there assuming 20% loss.
With a manual, you can add more mods to take you well over 300HP, but with an automatic, anything over 300 starts getting iffy. Vince and I both have the ZF tranny and ASA S/C. I'm taking a risk by running 330HP. Its been on for only a month but so far, so good.

S/C 325 are supposed to hang with stock M3s until about 90-100 MPH after that the M3 just pulls away

Hmm...it's not worth 5-8K to gain 80-100HP. Might as well sell the car, and put that 8K towards a 2001-02 M3!

You really think so , then you should add everything else together , such as maint , parts , insurance , etc that comes with the M , and having a sick sleeper .
I think its worth every dime .

My 01 has an asa ski..... and I love it! But I am also too loyal to my car to consider trading it in.

how often do people sell their chuperchargers used? I am just surious because I woul;d be much more willing to spend a little less for a used one...just curious, because I never seem to see kits for the 325 for sale used.:bawling:

It is about $6k and it is about $1k installed by them, but double check with Samir on that. Technik and ESS kits, who use the ASA compressors, put out the most power for the 325.

How do you do, lol~
Do you have auto tranny? Sounds like you have 8psi un-detuned version of supercharger kit having power range slightly more than 300hp.
How's it going? How do you feel since you put the supercharger kit. I mean how your ultimate machine performs? Like 0-60mph, max speed, gear shift point, power in 4th and 5th gear, and 1/4mile record. Oh~ I am also interested in the engine sound.
Unfortunately, I'd never seen supercharged car, which in stock form I might be thoroughly aware of. :dunno:

I would suggest you PM Mr.PaddleShift, you would get a much quicker response. He doesn't have time to go around looking through every thread that develops.

Vince and I are on similar setups, except his car has about 10 times more electronics than the hubble. Our cars run great. Been to the track with him with no problems. Hows the car doing Brian? Im finally back in town again

Is it worth supercharging a 323i? I would not be able to afford an M3 (not for a while). What are the best possible gains? Thanks.
