evosport is developing their headers on my car currently.... the power gains are supposed to be +/- 25 whp. i'd wait for those if i were you...

Anything is better than stock on an E46. The stock manifolds are a real limitation on power. Sound will be the same for all headers (for the most part). I BELIEVE the Technik headers are an improved version of the SS headers.

not so much improved. just based off of. there isn't really anything different except better construtction which i guess could be an improvement. so yeah... just not improved in terms of power or anything.
furthermore, i just noticed you are in mass. in that case i would highly reccomend waiting for the evosport as they are not stainless steel which has a tendency to crack under very cold temps. they evosport headers are mild steel with a dual stage ceramic coating and will come with a 5 year warranty against rust or corrosion.

Very confusing post indeed. Improved means improved whether it is durability, power output etc. No reason to "guess" whether it is improved or not, it simply is. I understand your loyalty to Evosport, who IMO puts out great products. But the best way to promote a product or company is to talk about what makes it so good, not downplay another product or company.

sir, i in no way shape or form downplayed another company, i said they had better construction than the supersprint. and i further informed him of the benefits of a product other than stainless steel due to his environment. i don't see how i downplayed another product. if my post came off as such, i in no way intended to do so.

I asked rennsport (back when) several times what the differences were and I never got a straight answer.

Some things that come to mind are extrude honed and ceramic, but like I said I never got a straight answer.

that's because all these smaller companies that build header for the E46 essentially just base them off of the supersprint products. they design of the SS products is excellent it's just due to the volume of their production their QC has gone to ****.
