Dont remember who it was, but they replaced the clutch and the computer had to be put into 'learning mode' to adapt then it was fine

yeah the guy with the supercharger on his 330 is from russia, his username is russancho. He's still having slipping issues with the clutch even after replacing the clutch and flywheel and going to the dealership to reset, to let the software relearn. I also have a smg 330, and thought about supercharging my car when warranty is up, but russancho is still having some slipping issues.

Also another member on this forum from the phillipines has a 325i ssg/smg supercharged. It doesn't seem like he had any problems with a supercharger and the tranny.

Hope this helps.

if only those tuning companies could find a solution to this problem, then i believe that more smg'ers would consider SC their cars

Has anyone ever had problems with their tranny when supercharging a steptronic with sport package?

got my car back from the dealer...had a pretty bad accident..:shhh:
the hood and both hadlamps had to be replaced, RD front bumper was ruined (this time I'll go with Breyton front lip)

Fortunately, the supercharger wasn't damaged

Now I always drive in sport mode (don't use the other sluggish setting on SMG) and for some reason the clutch stopped slipping!!
As we all know the automatic tranny on BMWs adapts to driving habits of the driver...the more aggrassive you drive, the more aggressive the adaptations...

My guess is that by driving in sport mode (always) the SMG adapted to more aggressive gear changes and does not allow the clutch to slip.
The other thing might be the cold temperature we have here...I don't know, but for now I am a happy boosted driver....:smokin:

and to tell you the truth...if I knew about the clutch slipping before I got SC, I would still buy it...

It also helps to let off the gas a little bit when changing gears...

the clutch slip is not soooo bad...sometimes there is none...

the main thing is that it doesn't slip constantly...

After the clutch change and everything I came to a conclusion that the problem lies in the software for the SMG control unit which should be reprogrammable <----grammar may suck :read: ---->
I've been to several BMW Dealers in Moscow and talked about this problem. Most of them told me that they don't know how to do it properly...One dealer offered the reset procedure (WHICH ALL OF THEM SHOULD"VE OFFERED!)

its hard to mod a car when you don't have access to companies that specialies in tuning modern cars. The dealerships in Moscow with all their GT1s and other gadgets lack entiusiasts who like to try new things.

I've posted on this forum and instantly got an answer from some guy who works at the dealership...he offered his help (I guess he didn't notice that I am on the other side of the Atlantic :hmm: )

My main point is that the solution to this problem may be a proper reset procedure. Access to BMW gadgets is required.

There is a thread on this forum where a guy transplants the M3 engine into 325. I've noticed an interesting thing while browsing that thread. When he brought his car for diagnostics to his friend at the dealership he posted photos of the computer reading when they were diagnosting SMG control unit. It had many parameters that had to be set (Slipoff point etc.). Why cant the 330 SMG control unit be reprogrammed in the same manner.
