Looking for a cheaper oilcooler kit then VPD's.
Saw VAC Motorsports website

This is cheaper, or can I pick up an old cooler-kit from an E36 M3 S50 or S52 and bolt-on on my M52TU?
I think I need the kit for the Vortech-charger when running above 4kRPM for a longer time, like trackdays and so on.

The oil filter housing will bolt up; however, the rest of the kit (lines, etc) Its the same in the S54 housing. You can get it, have it tapped for the lines (like the VAC, then get the oil cooler of your choice. This is what I did on my 330Ci, but let it be known it cost me about $650 dollars to make my own; I would recommend you spend the extra hundred from VAC rather than go sourcing out all that crap and needing a machinist to drill out and tap the housing.

But aren't the cooler fitted to the oilfilter housing?
Complete kit from an E36 or S52/54?

The housing provides the feed, return, and thermostatically controlled valve to the oil cooler (which looks like a radiator on the front of the car).
I think all the kits are the same, I used an S54 housing, but I *believe* its the same part number for the S52. Call VAC to be sure about E46 fitment otherwise.
