Less unwanted sounds could save certain amount of power lost due to the sound??
Of course, personally speaking, more aggresive sound is desirable, but only to the ultimate degree, with which there will be no unexpected power loss due to sound energy.
What could happen aftermarket euro headers are installed without cat converter? I'd heard this is the pure race car like set-up.
1. The torque at lower RPM could be lost, while overall power is increased noticeably.
2. Will not pass emission test, inspection.
3. Sound is a lot louder. Too loud is not desirable, and if it also robs certain amount of power, either put header with converter or forget about it.
Anyway, the buttom line is to find out set up that will give 1) the most power and torque, 2) the least amount of torque loss at lower RPMs, and 3) powerful aggressive sound, which should not be similiar as truck.
:dunno:
