I have an '01 330ci w/hk speakers. I've heard that by removing the rear deck speakers, it allows much more bass to find its way into the cabin, making the bass sound stronger...is this true, and, if so, any clues as to the easiest way to remove the rear speakers? Also, there's this rattling noise that sounds like it's coming from directly behind the driver's headrest...sounds like it's coming from the direction of the left/rear tweeter, but I cant tell. It's really annoying...any of you experienced similar problems?? Thanks for the help

I just took my speaker grills out and was able to see the bolts that hold the speaker bracket in place. I believe they were torx screws....I used my socket wrench to get those out, and then the speakers can just be pulled up and out. You also need to pull out the little pocket thing that sits underneath the speaker. After that, just disconnect the speaker wires and tuck them away and out of site. It was actually pretty simple.

Go to the JL website and look up the JL Stealthboxes for the E46, then look up the installation manual for them, it tells you how to remove those bad boys!
