I jus purchased a Punch series 12" Rockford sub along with a 250watt punch series amp, just wondering what would be better, a ported or sealed enclosure?? drop me a line! Thanx!

i have the p1's (10in) and I had them in a ported and they were extremely boomy, now they are in the rear-deck mounted BSW custom enclosure (sealed) and they are sooooooo much cleaner. The bass doesn't hit as hard but instead of useless vibrations, I can hear the music much more clearly...I would never go back...

Each enclosure has it's advantages and disadvantages. Loud boom = ported. Not so loud but cleaner sound = sealed. Sealed boxes are also smaller and easier to build.

sealed- fast accurate as hell responses and less vibrations, smallest box

ported- a little less fast and a little less accurate but much much more vibrations, usually a few inches bigger than sealed

bandpass- medium accurate and speed.... will rattle your organs until you dont feel so hot haha, alot bigger than sealed

From past experience, most RF subs work better in a ported enclosure.
