I have a 328 sedan and I may be selling it in the next two years to get an M3. Because of this I may just upgrade the factory non-HK speakers to make the system bearable.
If I choose to just upgrade the speakers (5.25 components up front and 6.5 coax in the rear), how do you wire the speakers? If the crossover points are inside the stock amp I will be using, how should the installer wire it in the trunk so that the mid is not active (or does the stock mid sound good with aftermarket components), and so that the coax in the rear deck gets all frequencies.
I guess my main questions are:
1) Do I leave the stock mids active in the front doors?
2) How should the installer wire the aftermarket upgraded speakers using the stock amp since both the front and back stock speakers are components and not near each other in a sedan?
ICE experts with experience please reply!
