I saw a thread about NY and tints, but I'm curious about NJ. So I'm posting this new thread.
About two weeks ago I got pulled over in Cedar Grove because those cops are bored out of their mind and have nothing else to do.
The b!tch (yes a woman) gave me a ticket for tinted windows.
My tint is 35% on the sides and 20% in rear.
Is tint even legal in NJ?
I tried BSing her that I bought the car like this but she didn't buy it.
Cuunnt....lol :spit:
Let me know...thanks..

Check this out, Bro.
The BIOTCH was right.

You're right she was bored and she had nothing better to do.
Good Luck

Correct ..legal in NY = 70%:read:
(b) No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any public highway, road or street: (1) the front windshield of which is composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent unless such materials are limited to the uppermost six inches of the windshield; or (2) the sidewings or side windows of which on either side forward of or adjacent to the operator's seat are composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent; or
(3) if it is classified as a station wagon, sedan, hardtop, coupe, hatchback or convertible and any rear side window has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent; or (4) the rear window of which is composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent. A rear window may have a light transmittance of less than seventy percent if the vehicle is equipped with side mirrors on both sides of the vehicle so adjusted that the driver thereof shall have a clear and full view of the road and condition of traffic behind such vehicle.

^My eyes are actually really sensitive to light so I can get this done if I wanted to.
My dad's E60 has 35% all around and 15% in the rear and he's never had a problem. I was in his car one time and we were at a light and a cop was right next to us trying to get a good look, but he never pulled us over.
My car used to have 35% all around until inspection time since the guy would not let me pass until I took off the front tint. So now I only have tint on the rear and the two rear triangular windows.

Could you post a picture of that setup? I am thinking about that solution..
