'Y' serial was running concurrent with "F" serial...making it 2003/2004 watch

never-the-less this watch is IMMACAULATE (see the pictures) and could pass for 3-4 month sold.
BTW. MSRP is $4700 plus tax with Rolex dealers 'maybe' giving 5% discount on sport SS models /

Are you talking about the green hologram sticker on the back of Rolex watches. You do know they come off after you wear the watch for a while (that's what happened with my Rolex - the green hologram sticker eventually falls off on its own).

MSRP is 4700 but you can get it for about $4000 that's why I asked - but nice watch and good luck

$4000? I do not think so for brand new. If you ar esure ...please pass me the contact ;-)
New Subs can be be had for about $4200 and Seadweller for about $4350 from indep. dealers...but not Brand new for $4K.
...and that's why myprice of $3495 is wha it is for almost a new piece.
Thanks for tyour comment thoug ;-)

Yes, the green hologram sticker...
i've had my sub for 5+ years, bought it pre-owned, mid-90's serial # and the hologram is still intact, albeit a bit faded, but it is on nonetheless.

Hologram is there and is worthless (...and very over-rated IMHO)
Some poor souls actually pay top dollar for la ousy replicas just 'becuase they have a hologram on them' (I never understood that...or for that matter - the people who keep the hologram still on the watch)
To me - after a while it is an 'ugly green worn out sticker' on otherwise a beautiful watch ...That is just my opinion though ;-) (your watch - and you are entitled to do with it, whatever you want)
I own several Rolex watches in my collection (www.MyWatchdepot.com) ...and I can tell you that I have removed the hollgram from every watch the day I buy it....what i sthepoint of having it on ?

What, you ONLY own 21 Rolexes... geez now if it was 22 Rolexes then I'd be impressed (ha,ha! j/k bro). Very impressive and excellent collection.
I've only owned 2 Rolexes both were Oyster Date watches. I'd have to go back and find the original model numbers but my first one was a stainless steel one with the engine-turned bezel and black face, and my current one is a gold one with a smooth bezel and black face (the bracelet is 2-tone gold and stainless steel). I almost considered trading in my Rolex for an Omega Speedmaster Racing watch with the carbon fiber dial, but then common sense prevailed, especially when the jeweler that I bought this Rolex from told me that even with a trade-in I would still have to pay an extra $1400 for the Omega Speedmaster Racing watch. Definitely not worth doing that.
About the green sticker though, I totally agree with you - I don't see the point of leaving it on AND mine eventually fell off on its own anyways after consistently wearing my Rolex).

Contact Howard Frum in Downtown Chicago the Mallers Building - Diamond District, Jewelers Row. He can get you this watch BRAND NEW for less than $4000 with box and papers. If you want it is PRE-OWNED, he has those too.

I have no doubt that the guy in Chicago you are recommending is a good businessman.....however I am not selling a new watch...and my price of a pristine pre-owned Seadweller only a couple years old - is right-on. Considering that he has a store to run - I HIGHLY DOUBT that he can offer one in this condition for less or even the same amount.
Never-the-less ....is it customary in this forum to go to other members 'For sale' post and redirect potential interested parties to someone else?? '
(....who has nothing to do with this forum or BMWs in the first place??
I could understand if someone would warn other people from overinflated price or replica merchandise....but otherwise .....I just don't get it !! :dunno:

Funny that you mentiomed that ...actually I will be selling it soon......as I just bought another Datejust - Turnograph ;)
However - the 16220 I will be selling - will come with it's stock silver dial as the blue one I had my watchmaker put in it after wards - and now I am placing it in my turnograph and the stock silver one goes back
The 16220 will be for sale for only $1799. It comes with a perfect sapphire crystal and was overhauled last year. It will come with factory Rolex oyster bracelet, silver dial and two Factory Rolex bezels - engine turned and smooth (that is curently on the watch)... drop me a mail for more pictures.

it is a lot easier if you own a company that pays for it ;)
(BTW, after 4years - I sold the franchise last fall and now the car is stock Imola Red.
It looked like a brand new car - without one stone chip - after I took the wrap off after 2 years)

what about my question about the mechanical watch
Seth_Horwitz

what about my question about the mechanical watch
He probably means automatic mechanical movement. That means that the watch has no battery or Quartz movement, but has an internal spring, clutch, and gears that keep the watch moving. (You can tell if a watch is automatic by giving it a little "jiggle" in your hand and you'll feel some vibration as the spring winds up.)
Having said all that, free bump for the seller. I like the Daytonas that you have. My buddy won the 24 hours of Daytona in 2001, driving the factory Vette, and was given one with the drivers' names engraved on the back. Cool stuff. (The year when the Earnhardts finished fourth. The other factory Vette.)
