So after being shalacked by a C6 vette, I've come to the conclusion that I want at least 400 RWHP.

Keeping in mind this car is my daily driver, and it gets pretty cold here during the winter like below 5 degree farenheit, or -15 celcius on rare occasion.

A lot of people here in ontario, are buying AA kits. And most people on this forum reccomend Tecknik.

I need lots of guidance, what should I do? I'd like to keep the cost within reason too, keeping the law of diminishing returns in mind.

My mechanic wants me to just purchase a good blower, and he'll fabricate the kit for me... Is this wise? he's extremely amazing with bmw's and custom supercharge/turbo kits.

Can anyone reccomend which direction I should go in? Centrifugal, or twin screw?

Thanks in advance!

oh by the way, Do I need to change my Diff, to LSD, and a different final drive ratio, say like 3.46?

the forum below yours with the ess supercharger look at that because that will give the power to and the torque to beat a v6 vette twin screw has better over all power and your only other option for a supercharger kit is to do some technik kit like mike b has done to his car he is making 390rwhp+ so he could help you. Still for overall power delivery the twin screw would be way better and way more efficient.

Dont fabricate youll need tuning for the car and the kits avaliable will be more reliable than anything that can be made custom.

Oh and definetly do an lsd in your car it is worth it but i dont know what kind of gear ratio you will need for a six speed but you will definetly need it with the kind of hp that you want if you want to get it to the ground.

400rwhp is going to be extremely difficult in a non-m. i believe benvos car is 390rwhp and hes the fastest non turbo 330 i know,

anyways to say you want to "keep cost within reason" is pretty rediculous
maybe upgrade your car would be the best option

edit: or just wait for a turbo kit to come out, it wont be long.

If your goal is 400+RWHP, you are not going to be able to reach it with any bolt on kit. Your best bet would be a custom turbo and that is going to be it's own set of problems. It will also be expensive, require custom tuning and most likely lowered compression.

You could probably get 400+RWHP much quicker and cheaper by buying an e46 M3 and slapping on a supercharger (or the upcoming HPF/Techik turbo) or waiting for the e90 M3.

Vid of our ZHP running our Stage 1 CS kit. Pushing a little over 290WHP right now @ 8psi on 91 octane, but 320-330WHP should be doable without getting into the head or installing lower compression pistons. 400WHP will be tough on pump fuel and would require dropping the compression to crank up the boost.

sooo I'm getting discouraged.... as I drive a lot, I heard the fuel economy goes down quite a bit when doing Forced induction!

makes sense, and dissapointing.

Still turbo seams to make more power, but I want a more linear power curve.... I guess the correct description is that I want a stronger linear power curve from bottom to top rpm!

Any more advice?

well der, what did you expect? power comes from fuel and air, if you use more power (rip the car all the time) of course you need more fuel. let me tell you something else; low fuel consumption is for panzies, so lets just leave it at that

yes take a look at the new Twin Screw positive displacement supercharger from ESS, which should be unveiled shortly. if you beleive everything you hear, it will put centrifugal chargers to shame. we shall see.
(look for a thread at the top of the FI page, youll see the thread)

If your goal is 400whp, you might want to start with another car. Not trying to turn you off, but there is a long way to go to attain that much power in a 330.
