Well I have been searching and every post I have found on the 330ci is not very informative more or less an argument of M3 owners vs 330ci's with SCs on them. :dunno:
Anyway I want some REAL data on the Stage 3 Kit for a 2001 330ci. What's the hp and tq like? What's the power curve like? Whats the price? What does the kit come with? Warranty? Pictures? Is this kit viably streetable or is it asking for trouble? Technik website doesn't have mutch information however I still give them props for making the kit.

Do any search for Mike Benvo's car and you'll get more info than you'll ever need.

Just curious, is the Stage 3 intercooler the same as the other stages? It seems like the IC piping is larger for the Stage 3 kit.
Also, is that 2.75" 135 degree Samco hose for the connection between the MAF pipe and the compressor u-bend pipe?

as far as i know the intercooler for stage 3 is not the same as stage 1 at least (much smaller)
there was a thread about someones take on their technik FMIC upgrade ill find you a side by side pic for reference if you gimme a sec.

Thank you very much redonin for find that picture for me. However, I already have the upgraded Technik FMIC. What I was meaning to ask was that because a bigger compressor is used, maybe the output pipe diameter would be larger. So if the output pipe diameter is larger at the compressor, then the pipes would be larger, which would then mean that the FMIC I/O pipe diameter would be larger as well. It would suck for people in the lower stages to have to buy a whole new FMIC just to upgrade beyond their TM-12s. :(

i think i see what you are asking now, my apologies for misunderstanding
so far my experience is not extensive enough to comment on the relative
diameter of the fmic tubing from the first pic to the one i posted (looks similar to me)
anyhow as far as i can figure out, some of the piping up top where space is tight is rubber correct? those blue tubes dont seem to be much, if in fact there was a different diamter tubing between the tm12 and the tm15 (which i would find hard to believe since the MAF is the same size) anyways perhaps a simple step up hose would remedy the problem :dunno:
p.s. i love the hamann lip, not enough people do it!

I am refering to the outlet of the compressor. If the outlet of the compressor is upgraded to 2.25" from the original 2", then it would only make sense to enlarge the other pipes. But for those that have the previous kits, it would be similiar to buying a whole new kit because of all the piping and compressor and FMIC. Hopefully that is not the case.
The inlet hose diameter of compressor should be the same considering that the MAF, like you said, is a set size. I need to pick up that 45 degree SAMCO elbow, I already have the 90 degree elbow.
Thanks for the compliments!

Stage 1-3 uses the same 24" intercooler w/ 2" piping. Stage 4 gets the upgraded unit w/ 2.25" piping since the TM17 (Gen2) has a 60mm outlet.
Also, is that 2.75" 135 degree Samco hose for the connection between the MAF pipe and the compressor u-bend pipe?
No, that's a standard 45deg Samco 2.75" ID.

:( Damn, that means a new FMIC for Stage 4 is needed.

I meant 45 degrees. I'm sorry. My axis of reference was wrong. :( Thanks for clarification.
Any luck with finding a spare compressor u-bend pipe with the extra hole for the secondary bypass valve deleted? Thanks! :)

That pipe and the other pipe on the lower right of that circle. I have secondary bypass holes on there that are plugged. I don't want to lose any possible boost pressure through a plugged hole. :(
