hey guys, as you all know, i have a 02 325 ci, and after runing out of small mods, omar, from AATUNING finaly convinced me to get a supercharger in my car.
i got it back about a 2 weeks ago and been driving everyday, and it works amazingly well. the car is a beast, i raced against a stock m3 and beat him.
im really happy with the kit.
thank you very much ACTIVE AUTOWERKE.

a 325 supercharged can beat an m3. if thats the case a 330i should walk easily on an m3

:werd: A supercharged 330 is just a bit better than a stock M3. However, a stock M3 will give a supercharged 325 a run for its money.

A 325 without any other modifications (headers, gearing, etc) should not come within reach of a stock E46 M3.. A 330 with headers and such is believeable.

boo for needing headers.

yeah i wouldn't think a 325 supercharged could keep up with a stock m3 :dunno:

Even AA's website claims 310hp to crank for the 325, thats a tad short of stock M's number. Congrats on the run. Was it an E46?

Well I went to a Dayton M3 meet. Afterwards I met up with one that wasn't even at the meet. With sc, ltw flywheel, and exhaust he wasn't able to pull hard on me... but as for me being able to beat him... not yet lol I still have stage 3 planned.

Sure, it makes a nice amount of power for a car its size, but the M3's higher redline and much more agressive gearing gives it a major advantage.

A 330 will need a limited slip, gears, chip, supercharger, headers and exhaust, light weight flywheel, pullys, and wheels/tires to keep up with an M3. I've seen so many try to beat the M3, but with 20 grand in mods still come in second. On the track the M3 wins for throttle response and redline. On the strip the M3 wins for launch/traction. And with all those mods, esp the 3:48s and no redline the 330 becomes less of a daily driver. Best just to SC and leave it at that and accept that you've got a kickass fast car, but not an M3 burner.

keep in mind non-m coupes are lighter than M coupes. SO if a non-m coupe is pushin like 315 at the crank it has a good chance of beating the M

i'm sorry 20 grands in mods and you should be smoking an m3(i think)

Of course the M3 would get the non-M3 from a stop because of the higher redline. With a higher differential in the rear, the non-M3 would most likely have to shift three times to the M3 shifting twice to get to a certain speed. I have a 3.46 in my car and the car is a daily driver. Nothing wrong with a 3.46. :dunno: BTW, I have beaten M3s from a roll.

i have custom exhaust, headers, pulleys, gears, reduced weight, ssr light wheels, and AAsupercharger and i killed the m3 several times. a friend of mine owes it so we tried them a few times.

How much weight did you take off (i.e. what parts did you take off)? I assume a 3.46 rear diff. Pullies help but not that much. Sorry to say, but to kill a M3 with a supercharged 325 is kinda hard for me to believe. However, what were the characteristics of the race? From a roll (mph?) or a stop?

But congrats on your kill!

That's a good point. e46 M3 curb weight is 3415 lbs, at 333 hp that gives 10.26 lb/hp. The e46 325i weighs 3197 lb, at 310 hp that gives 10.3 lb/hp.

So they have almost identical power-to-weight ratios. icosaca's 325i also has
custom exhaust, headers, pulleys, gears, reduced weight, and ssr light wheels, so it seems conceivable it could out-drag an M3. Maybe not by much, but you certainly can't say it's impossible.

Also could depend on some of the options like if he has no power seats, no heat, no sunroof,no xenons, take out the spare, back seats, put racing seats in front, ho HK all of that would lighten it. Put on a m3 hood they are about 40% lighter, get the carbon fiber m3 bumper renforcement ,again lighter. Csl trunk shave some pounds. upgrade to 2 piece rotors alot lighter. What else?

icosaca
04-24-2006, 07:47 PM
i got carbon fiber hood, and some other parts taken out.
will you guys from fl on this thread be at the meet in active on the 13 of may, my car will be there.

Try a racing battery. That will save you about 25 lbs. Racing seats lead to a huge weight savings.
