Hi all

I thought i would post on an American forum - as you are more advanced then the Brits.

Anyway

I was thinking if I had an AA stage 2 S/C producing 500bhp at 7.5psi

1) Would it help to have a ported & polished cylinder head to increase air flow resulting in more power?!

2) And would you be able to change the pistons to a lower compression ratio say (9.5) you could crank you the boost pressure, right?

Or would this affect reliablity to a pointless degree.

Other faults denonation? or too much power for the crankshaft!?1

Any thoughts guys!

BTW, cars are nicer in the states too! :str8pimpi

Nobody in the Uk has got 500bhp out of the AA stage 2 kit yet, i think 460bhp is the highest so far. Thats with other mods too as well as the SC.

yeah you are looking at around 450bhp out of the box or less.

yes on the head porting , even though it has been said that the stock head flows very well , i know a lot of companys that further port them . amd yes u can do interanals and increases boost safely, and reliably. if u build the motor u will have no problems. the crank is forged and is stong , detonation no if teh tunning is on .

Have you confirmed that the AA kit will work with a UK spec car? I'm just currious as far as the routing of the piping goes. I believe some of the steering components and assemblies are on the opposite side ( :P ). :dunno:

Something else I wonder is wouldn't the software tuning would almost have to be different? :dunno: US spec versus UK spec?

I guess I would just say call AA and confirm that their kit will work with your car and while you have them on the phone you can ask for additional suggestions on horsepower related mods. :)

i once e-mailed AA about software for my euro 330. Karl said, and i quote: "yes, the cars are very similar all over the world, software maps are exactly the same for fuelling, ignition and vanos"

might be safest to check if this goes for the M3's as well..
