Guys,
Just ordered my Technik ASA SK1 w/stage 3 pully for my 323Ci and was wondering if anyone purchased the oil cooler kit from them? If so, do you recommend it, opinions?

I just purchased a Competition Oil Cooler kit from Victory Product Design & the quality seems really well made. It comes with a Setrab cooler & all necessary hardware. Keep you guys updated on it.

Here's the link:

I feel the need to repeat this. Pple have this mythical notion of "because it's cheaper and it's for E46s, therefore it should work".

VPD's setup is not designed for Technik ASA's kit. It's a general kit for E46s. For an important thing like cooling, no-general-off-the-shelves kit works optimally. The ASA kit is very unique in how it integrates into the current oil system. When you add an auxiliary subsystem to the existing oil system, parameters such as flow characteristics, head loss and pressure loss change. If you think it's not important, then you're off track on this.

Which is why, with the help from Zolti, I put together an OC kit for all Technik ASA kits. I have the white papers from fluid mechanics computation to experimentation data. Track tested and proven. Most importantly my OC kit is approved by Technik Engineering.

Most ppl have the typical notion that is it's cheaper they'll go for it, but what makes you think I'm that typical person? If I'm able to afford the price of a S/C what's another few $$$ invested into a OC.

The reason I bought the VPD OC was because not that the kit was "cheaper" but because there was more detail of the kit as listed on their site than Technik. VPD has spent lots of time into their kits as well. There wasn't enough specs on the Technik kit etc. I know you have vast expertise in tracking your vehicle as well as the result is track-tested reliability and proven performance of the Technik kit which is why Zolti & you put together the OC kit.

VPD has also vast experience with high horsepower application vehicles as well as tracking their vehicles. I spoke with Fife & he assures me that the OC is compatible with the ASA kit as well as he's pretty familiar with the ASA kit & S/C applications.

I'll post an update on how well the VPD OC does when it's installed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

My .2 cents!

The kit you bought should be fine with the ASA blower.

Might be slight differences in the fittings/size of cooler and such but it's more or less the same thing..... Oil in, Ambient Air in, Cooler oil out

vaio76109 - The oil cooler kit is being installed as we speak along with the Technik s/c kit. I'll have updates of the oil cooler pics along with the s/c soon.
