I want to get an idea of what kind of whp are you getting from a supercharged 330(AA). I installed my kit about 2 weeks ago and I cannot complain so far. As I said before AA has put a very solid kit together. BUT, today I put my car on a Mustang dyno and the numbers were not what I was expecting. I got 234.2 whp at 6250rpm and 221.9 ft-lbs at 5250rpm. :dunno: AA's Mustang Dyno sheet for a S/Cd 330ci reads 277.5 whp and 245 ft-lbs. I am trying to understand why my car is 43 hp and 24 ft-lbs short of that mark?? I guess my new project if to find out where those extra ponies went! I am going to start by buying a boost gauge, to see if I am reaching 8psi. What do you guys suggest?

1. you should def get a boost guage
2. what transmission do you have. since you have the 8psi kit im assuming its a MT, if not, thats a good place to start looking

any other mods?

You can maybe try to compare the temperature at which the car was dyno'ed, the dyno settings, the altitude, etc. You may be hitting the mark, just not in the conditions that AA did it.

Putting the kit together and running put a dent on my bank so I am hoping to be able to buy some gauges here in the near future. I have a 5 speed manual and as far as performance mods I just have the exhaust.

I understand your point. But my question is, Would temperature, altitude and dyno settings have a 40 whp impact on the numbers? I could expect 10 - 15 whp but not 40.
It is weird because even the numbers are not what I expected I am excited about working and experimenting to find those lost ponies:thumbup:

First try another Dyno shop and see what it reads there. Numbers seem a bit low.

Those numbers do seem low... Was the shop you dyno'd at experienced with the dyno? I dyno'd my car on a mustang, and the first time, it was calibrated wrong, and my car was making as much power as an M! The calibrations must be perfectly set to get an accurate reading.

Use a scanport reset the DME & log the MAF voltage, SFT, LFT, timing, & knock. Drive your car around, do the same the next day w/o reseting DME. See if any of the values differ from before.

my 330CI is putting down 1000000WHP, jk but def buy a boost guage, plus you may have a leak somewhere

your rwhp def. seems low.it is normal for dynos to have different readings, but that much?i had my car on 2 different dyno's.One read 287rwhp and the other 295rwhp,the second time i had octante booster in the tank

I might have found the problem. The diverter valve was leaking boost. I purchased a Forge and the car seems to pull harder at the top end and it sounds very nice whenever you let go the throttle. I also installed boost and AFR guages. I am reaching 8 psi almost at redline. Tomorrow I am going to dyno it again and see if it has improved.
When it came time to install the gauges I ran into the problem of where to install them. Couldn't use the pillar because the airbag, didn't like the cubby hole above the ash tray (can't really see what is going on). So I came with the idea  of installing them on the passanger side a/c vent. After playing with crazy glue, chicken wire, bondo, primer and paint for a couple of hours, this is what I came up with. I might be able to produce these in the near future. What do you guys think about it??

Absolutely brilliant! I scrolled through the whole post just b/c i was intreauged by the guages. lol

I really think that is novel, and you might even be able to sell a few.

2 things

-Did you block off the a/c from going to that area? If you didnt the cold air may cause condensation on the back of the gauges, which im assuming have exposed wiring, which might cause you short circuit trouble in the future. You can block the ac to there like MIte46 did with W/ a block of foam in the vent and some glue around the edge.

-Did you try to make the gauges flush? That might look cool too.

Great job.

Thanks!
I did block both the A/C and the defog ducts. Nothing better than duct tape! I tried to put them flushed but I decided to put them on an angle to be able to see them better.

 Thats a really cool idea!

BTW do you have pictures of your boost line connection to the bypass valve?

Did you use a 3 way connector?

I`m using a nylon line but it keeps getting kinked all the time!:thumbdwn:

Nice good job! Glad you put ur thought into it, always makes for a better mod. Good Luck!

You know I was just thinking, That would be a great place to put a small TV playing an image from the left review mirror camera???!!! (If someone ever decides to do the camera instead of mirror thing)
