Pending install question

This weekend i plan on installing an aftermarket head unit, amp (for sub) and a subwoofer. My plan now is to install the sub amp off of the headunit leads before the main amp(like if i didnt have an aftermarket unit) . and to install the headunit with all the necessary harnesses. few q's or options

if i'm not feeling lazy, can i run the preouts from the aftermarket headunit to the aftermarket amp and not worry about anything screwing up

i know sound quality will be equal or slightly worse , but then again wont it sound better with a real subwoofer and more power? or does the factory amp limit the volume output?

any other gripes or concerns appreciated

You can tap the wires (turn-on and signal) either at the factory head unit, or in the trunk (amplifier inputs). A lot easier to do it in the trunk.
