I'm about to run full SS exhaust, and was wondering which software would be the best for it. I was suggesting AA, Technik. I'm going to be running no cats and I would like the tuning company to "custom tune" me a software not just a preset software.

what would you need a custom tune for? i thought you had tunning already.

Doesn't no cats mean you have to do custom tuning? Especially if you have headers which will open up a lot more air flow so you would need different tuning. Also, I would want to run higher octane.

oh my bad. didn't know you had headers. i also didn't know that running cats would need custom tuning.

so i getting headers for my car, am i going to need custom tuning or will the ecu that i'm getting from samir take care of any cel lights that might pop up?

their is no "custom" tuning to get by without running cats, do a :search:

if you want custom tuning (aka. dyno tuning), you maybe want to go with a proven, well-known, respected company. examples could be Technik, ESS and AA.

I was thinking about Technik or AA. The reason I'm going towards Technik is that I see them actually working on the car and tuning it. They can do custom tuning which I want. I'm afraid if I send my ECU to AA, they will just hand me a software that everyone else has.

Can anyone tell me how their Technik software is?

get the ESS software, i think they have specific software for certain octane

i really dont think a custom dyno tune is going to be worth your time if all you have is a straight pipe

if you're not looking for dyno tuning Mliner, both Technik and AA will give you "standard" software for the S54 + maybe tuned for headers. if you want to squeeze the extra hp/tq you get from straight pipes, muffler and other minor mods, you'll need dyno tuning which costs a lot more if you want it done correctly.. i bet AA as well as Technik and ESS are fully able to do custom dyno tuning.

i really don't think you need dyno tuning unless you have something like headers, cams, a ported & polished head, higher rev-limit (due to new valvetrain) and such.

get software that is tuned for your engine + headers (you have those if i remember correctly?).. i know ESS has that kind of software ready.
