hi i got AC SCHNITZER TYPE 3 17x8 1/2 can i fit 205-40-17 tires on theese rims

205's are a little thin aren't they. For an 8 inch wide rim? I think you'll be stretching it to the limit. could be wrong.

im only asking because i have like a 4 inch drop and i need something that will not touch

Your rim's lip will stick out beyond the sidewall of the tire. If you're going for the stretched-euro-look, then by all means.

However, I would def. go with 225 on 8-1/2" wide rims. Toyo T1-Rs or any wheel with a tapered sidewall should work. Michelin PS2s and Bridgestone S0-3s both have square sidewalls, so avoid those at 225
