I saw RENT in NYC with my girlfriend about a year ago and needless to say it was amazing! I enjoyed all the songs, and all of the singers were incredible, not just the lead! Definitely a huge  to RENT.

Also, I saw STOMP about 4 weeks ago in NYC, my 2nd time seeing it, and it's still my favorite show (I played percussion in HS so I really appreciate that sort of thing). If you enjoy music and choreography, then definitely go see STOMP!

Whatever you end up seeing, good luck, have fun, and let us know how it turned out :)

+1 Avenue Q, The Producers, Wicked (hard to get-long wait), Hairspray, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I've heard Spamalot and 25th Annual Spelling Bee were good as well

if u want to see a funny a$$ play go see "the producers" - saw it a few years ago.

"Wicked" im seeing when i fly back into jersey next month

i havent seen lion king but i hear thats great.

a 'straight up' awesome play was '42nd st.' that should be a good alternative and u should be able to get discounted tickets on a weekday at the Ticket booth on broadway. AMazing dance #'s

Wicked has had great reviews, but you have to see Rent if you have not seen a play in a while. You'll enjoy whatever you see, just make sure she is interested!
