I am wondering if you know if your software is compatible with O2 simulators because the current software i have now is conflicting with my O2 and causing me to throw an SES light.
I may consider changing.
Thanks!

I know they can do it because they did mine to get rid of the CEL from the 02 sensors since I'm catless... not sure if it will still be 50% off though :dunno:

According to your signature, the MS45 software is 499. So the price, this month, will be $250?
If so, I'll be placing my order before month's end! One last thing, what kind of custom tuning do you offer? Exhaust, redline level, etc. I have a 3.38 rear diff and would really like to be able to carry slightly past 60 in second gear. I need a higher redline by about 300-400rpms. How much does does the regular non-custom MS45 raise it by?
Thanks!

Yes, its $250 this month. Redline goes up to 7k in all gears, which is a 500rpm increase from the factory set 6500rpm. I have a 3.46, and hit 59mph in 2nd at 7k, but with a 3.38 you should hit 60.

I also noticed on their website that "options" are exhaust and "K&N Panel Filter". Are these options extra? I have an intake (though not K&N) and an exhaust.

Just stop by AA, ask for Omar & buy the software with cash or credit card then they will upload it for you free of charge...or call AA, ask for Omar & purchase it over the phone (w/CC#), then let him know at least a day prior when you're coming in. Let him know if you upgraded your intake and/or exhaust when ordering...

I believe it depends on how quickly you choose to ship it there. If they receive it by 1pm eastern (I think its 1pm, not 100% sure) then I'm pretty sure it ships out same day via 2nd day air... You can probably upgrade to next day air for a fee though.

I received my ECU back last week Thursday and wanted to give things a few days to readapt (if theres any truth to that). I wasn't expecting a big difference in power since it is well known that software for our cars doesn't really do too much. I did notice a difference, not huge but it was noticable. HP increases, who knows...but there seems to be a bit more torque and things are more responsive. I think for 50% off it's a good deal since every little bit counts with these cars.
hookem12387
07-25-2006, 08:15 AM
That's what I was looking for really. A difference. How much did it cost you to ship your ecu out?
germanspec330i
07-25-2006, 09:26 AM
I did overnight shipping from NY to FL. I used UPS next day air and the shipping was $42, insurance for 1g was $13.50 and a damn full charge of $7 so the total for overnight shipping was around $60. A little bit pricey but I needed to get the ecu there and back in as little of time as possible.
hookem12387
07-25-2006, 09:50 AM
Hrm, I guess the shipping works out to be the same as the install price for dinan. It really is what software I want more, I hoped price might decide for me. Thanks man

Stick to USPS! You can easily fit the ECU into a flat-rate box of theirs and then just load it up with insurance! Also, as a word of caution, AA's website indicates to insure it up to $1000 but if you check on realoem.com the cost of the most recent ECU's is more around $1300. To be on the safe side, I plan to insure it at $1500 to cover any labor charges the dealership would charge me if for some reason it was lost. If you bubble wrap the ECU, throw it into a flat-rate box, send it out via Express Mail with $1500 worth of insurance, it'll cost me to send from NJ to FL just about $35. Don't bother with UPS or FedEx when it involves smallish packages.

This one is for AA....
The statement below is a vendor talking about the powerchip sw they sell...
"It also comes with a 3 year warranty, if you ever change a part or move and you have 91 or 93 available, we'll retune it for your for $50. It's that simple."
Do you guys have such a system? Warranty??
Activ3
07-26-2006, 07:04 PM
Warranty? What warranty would it need? There is no physical part to get damaged :dunno:
As for the octane thing, the AA software is combatible will all octane levels... and if you ever go to the dealership and they reflash your car for updates, AA will reflash their software back in for free.

I am sorry but what is reflash? and when ussually the dealer do reflash?
Is it everytime when we changing oil, and they reset the milage for the next changing.
I am sorry for my stupid question. :eeps:

Nothing to be sorry for :)
If you're still under warranty, every now and then the dealer might receive software updates from BMW NA. These are not often, so you may never get one at all.
When they reset the mileage, that doesn't mess with the software, just the service odometer.
