Hi, just recently installed Ice>Link Plus on my 04 325 CI and having some issues (trunk verision installed with Factory HU no Nav):
at 0.5 V, volume is way too low and get alternator whine
at 1.0 V same issue, but MORE alternator whine
at 2.0 V no alternator whine that I can hear but quite a bit of distortion on several mp3s, but certain ones sound ok to me - I'm guessing it's an issue with frequencies - very annoying. I have the exact same mp3 on CD-R in .wav and it sounds fine.
at 4.0 V same as 2.0 V but way more distortion - no alter whine that I can hear.
Currently using OEM HK system.
Upgraded the firmware to 2B2 to get ID3 tags and hopes to resolve the problem but didn't work - I do get the ID tags now though
I'm on the verge of returning this thing - if the distortion is inherent there's no point in keeping this IMO.
HELP much appreciated. Thanks.

note I haven't tried using this yet? Will this most likely eliminate my problems?

Verify the EQ on the iPod is set to "OFF", it could be the iPod itself. :)

the Eq was on something - now reset but it all still sounds like kaka.
any other suggestions?! Like I said I'm near ready to return this thing. In Toronto this Ice>Link costs $300 - that's more than my ipod!

I would recommend trying another iPod to isolate the problem to being iPod or ice>Link-related. If it's related to the ice>Link, simply exchange the kit for another.

I'll give it a try ... so I guess no one else has this problem?
I'm tempted to give the noise converter a try as well but shipping to Toronto takes forever and I don't even know if it will fix the problem. I'll be Boston for business next week ... Tom can you ensure the timing of delivery so that I get the noise filter while I'm staying at my hotel? That way I can just bring it over the border myself.

The noise filter is for inteference or engine whine - it has nothing to do with distortion. I would highly suggest trying another iPod before throwing guesses at it, which can become expensive.

so bizarre! I just plugged in my friend's iPod video and it played fine ... then I plugged mine back in and the same song that was playing all crackling and staticky is playing fine. All's good now! Whew! I was getting pretty frustrated. I have no idea what happened, I just hope it stays this way.
Thanks Tom!!
