yea i think i wanna go from STEP :loco: coupe to 6speed sedan

i found a person selling his 330i wiht a vortech SC, hes in NC currently but its $30k with low miles

is this someting i should jump on or should i be scared of getting a car with a SC installed??/

i did some research and when i testdrive it when he comes up north next week im gonna drop the clutch near redline and hold it for 2-3 secs to see if it stalls (like what happened to mikebenvo)
check all the hoses, check for CEL lights(maf outta range),check for GIAC tuning, see if it came from jlevisSW, and of course see if the cars in good condition

any input??

All I know is that if you dropped the clutch at redline in my car, I would punch you in the face. Drive it as hard as you want, but the second you start abusing it, thats not cool :thumbdwn: .

sorry i used hte wrong terminology

i meant push in the clutch and pop it in neutral to see if it stalls like mike benvos problem that he had a year ago (searched and found it)

Ahh thats ok then...I would think that you would be fairly safe buying the car if it is running low boost. The more highly modified the car, the greater the risk in m y opinion...

I'd check on what brand the s/c is obviously and who did the install. And remember, it probably voided the car's warranty

the worker at the local dealership said its a vortech, the only thing he wasnt sure on twas the miles he said he knows its under 30k but not sure the exact number

is 29500 a fair price or u think i can get him to 27? (assuming i can get 19k for my car)

I really don't know much about that kit so I can't give you a ballpark figure of how much has been put into the car and how much it is worth. Check to see if the services were done at the required intervals or better and run a carfax on it to make sure that it hasn't been in any wrecks or has been salvaged. I think its probably going to fall around 28-29k...if you can do it for 28, go for it. But I think you should find out as much information as you can about that kit...what kind of power it puts down, dynos, etc. You should also find out if the car has sen any track time.

get a leakdown test, or compression test. Gotta find the condition of the engine. You never know , especially with used FI cars...
