Well here's something thats really vague...
The car really felt sluggish today. No CELs, stalls, rough idles,.etc..just plain sluggish. I checked only visually for any boost leaks and everything looks as tightly connected as day one. I noticed that the exhaust was a little tiny bit louder and had a little backfire type popping/rumbling from time to time. I know its real general and I have not really done any troubleshooting. Trying to get some clues on where to start based on symptoms. Could it all be imagaination?
Thanks.

maybe you got used to all the power..:)
I'd check the dipstick and make sure its topped off.
Might clean the maf sensor with some electric cleaner....
Other then that, check all clamps, hoses.
The only real way is dyno:)

1.Try another tank of gas as you may have gotten a lower fuel grade by mistake.
2.Check the system carefully for leaks and test the boost pressure.
3.Clean the MAF using CRC MAF cleaner spray.

Thanks Asbjorn. I will try those things.

I actually just replaced my MAF 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think the old one was actually fine so I have a spare. Today the car felt fine. On the way to work the SES light came on, but the car did not feel any different. I have a feeling it is just a reminder for Inspection I which I had them do earlier and maybe they forgot or were unable to reset the computer on that. Or, does an SES light always mean somethings up?

Something is wrong. Go to Autozone and have them read your stored code.

I think my gas cap is broken. I am not sure if it is supposed to click when you tighten it or not. On my van and Acura it does. On the BMW it does not. I hope that the SES is from the gas cap. I got gas two days ago. Going to get the codes pulled after work.

Yeah, your gas cap should click in, but not sure if that directly relates to the SES light. You've already tried everything AJ suggested?:dunno:

yeah, inspection I II or even IV has nothing to do with CEL. Maybe the codes have something to do with your sluggishness.

Not yet. Did check my gas reciept and it was for "93 Ultra". Trying to see if there is a simple/logical answer first. I know that loose gas caps are a big issue with many vehicles and do produce CELs and in our case SES lights. I think loose gas caps are percieved as "evaporative leaks" to the car. I think the gas cap states that itself in print.
Did not get to go to Autozone yet. Looks like I'll have to wait till tomorrow. Car seems to have a slight bogging in specific situations. I think its just the way it was tuned. Here is an example:
2004 BMW 330 CI (Steptronic) with ESS TX2 @ 8psi
Cruising at 55-60 MPH..push down gas maybe 1/4 down and hold. RPMs go up to 2500 and sort of stuck there or initially hits 2500 RPM then drops 500 RPM..sort of feels like taking off from a stand still in 5th gear on a manual. This will happen at diff speeds and RPMs, but almost always at 2500 or 3000. You really need to press the gas down quick or goto kickdown for it to not happen. Slow or moderately pushing down the gas (just for regular easy going passing) seems to yield no reaction except that the gas MPG needle drops to nothing, yet the car is only maintaining speed. Very hard to explain. This has always been the case when the SC was put in from the start..just seems more pronounced now. I was initially worried that I got flashed the wrong tuning since I am running 8 psi (manual kit) on my step equipped car (normal 7psi). Perhaps that could be as well?? :hmm:
One thing at a time...tomorrow read codes.
