I drive a 2002 325i auto and was wondering if there is any manifold i could switch into my car to gain more hp? Ive read that the e36's are able to do a switch with a m50 manifold. Thanks

For the money you'd spend and the time it'd take why not just do other bolt ons that'll give more power for less- intake, exhaust, pullies, software, etc- even an s/c-

A little hp = cams + exhaust + headers. A lot = cams + exhaust + headers + FI. Not much to say. You aren't working with an American muscle V8 here.

For an N/A car, there really isn't a lot of power to be found in the intake. Look at the Speed World Challenge cars for example, they are making 270+ Hp with the stock intake on 2.5 Liter engines.
Just to clarify, I'm NOT refering to ducting used to house the air filter, but the actual manifold bolted to the cylinder head.

Go SC and save all the headaches! Best bang for the buck no doubt

if u want to change the exhaust manifolds ,i recommand you supersprint.i have superspint manifolds and they are great.if you want about 50 hp you must take schrick cam +superspint exhaust manifolds+supersprint race kat.

You cannot use an E36 intake manufold as the ports do not match up nor do they have dual intake runners. Also, there are currently no aftermarket intake manifolds for the e46 due to lack of demmand. Technik is currently making one for therer stage 4 car. The reason is that the factory manifold starts to leak around 1 BAR.

The E36 manifold will bolt right you to your head, but as said. It's not the right match. The E36 OBDI manifold has huge oval ports, different from you half oval/square ports on you head. If you really want the swap, you can take the car into a machine shop and have them port match your head without removing it off the block. The single stage will benefit you with power up top, but rob you as much as it gains you down low. Make sure it's the OBDI intake manifold, not the OBDII. Oh, and also. Your throttle body will bolt right yup to it as well. The only difference would be, is that the throttle body would sit sideways.
