Do you currently have Nav?

You can get an Alpine interface for the stock nav screen and use their Nav or you can add an aftermarket screen and Nav from Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion etc etc...

Retrofitting OEM nav (from an e46--idrive ones dont work) is about $4k...

You can look into the Eclipse Navigation systems. It can get pricey but worth the money. You will also have to get a custom bracket to be able to fit it into your E46. Check the link to see pics of the unit. http://www.carsound.com/articles/publish/printer_282.shtml

i'd highly recommend the pioneer avic line..it's an all in one, i've owned an avic n1,n2 and i currently own a n3. So i've had quite a bit of experience with it.

having used both pioneer and alpine software, the alpine is much, much better.

also, most people dont want a flip up screen in an e46, that will block the vents.
