An eas original design, this eurotray w/ integrated cupholder is for those enthusiasts that want the storage space of the BMW eurotray, but are not willing to sacrifice their cupholders.

http://www.europeanautosource.com/images/vendors/eas/interior/eurotray/eurotray1lg.jpg (http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=458) http://www.europeanautosource.com/images/vendors/eas/interior/eurotray/eurotray2lg.jpg (http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=458)

As you already know, we are big fans of OEM integration, which is the core basis of this piece. Functional and stylish at the same time.

e46 eurotray with integrated drink holder
http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=458

Product Description:

Originally available on european M3 models, the "eurotray" replaces the factory cupholders in your e46 giving you a clean, factory-like installation afterwards with no tools needed.

Until recently, installing the eurotray presented a difficult choice to sacrifice the cupholders for the eurotray, which many BMW drivers are reluctant to do. We feel your pain.

The eas eurotray w/ integrated cupholder is a one piece design that replaces your factory cupholders and coin tray. Featuring an integrated cupholder and storage tray for loose items, this is the perfect size for those that use an iPod in the car. Since we designed this with iPod users in mind, a small punchout hole can easily be pushed out with your thumb for an iPod cable to route through.

http://www.europeanautosource.com/images/vendors/eas/interior/eurotray/easeurotry1.jpg (http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=458) http://www.europeanautosource.com/images/vendors/eas/interior/eurotray/easeurotry4.jpg (http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=458)

The cupholder is the exact size of your current cupholder, and clears the factory armrest perfectly.

This is a perfect installation accessory for the DICE iPod Integration Kit and allows the iPod to be stored in a safe location. The eurotray w/ integrated cupholder fits all e46 3-series models in seconds. Available in black.

Features:

- Easy 30 second installation
- OEM quality and feel
- Authentic eas accessory
- No tools needed
- Perfect for cellhone or iPod storage
- Matches factory interior perfectly

Models Supported:

1999-2006 e46 3-series, including M3

tom i also noticed that this is a lot different than either the eurotay and the cup holder correct?

the pic appears that the cup holders dont have that tri-retractable grip like on regular cup holders and the eurotray doesnt have the slider to cover your valuables correct?

Love the idea Tom... Now just figure out a way to integrate the eject box for bluetooth phone in there.. ;)

BTW, there is no roll cage on that, right? just an opening? Is there a hole in the back for the ipod cable, or did you drill one?

Also, does it only come in black?

You are correct - this was designed to keep things very simple and not as a eurotray clone. This allows the OEM look and feel and keeps costs down to a minimum.

Very good questions. There is no sliding door as this is not intended to be a eurotray clone, but something a little different. Keeping the design clean and simple allows the piece to retain the OEM looks and feel.

The hole in the back as designed for the iPod cable to be passed through and can be "punched out" by pressing on it with your thumb.

It wouldn't be a good idea to leave an iPod in a car unattended, regardless if hidden or not. I'm not worried about the iPod being stolen - it's the damage they create getting to it.

The eurotray texture is fnished from the molding process, the mat at the bottom is a seperate rubber piece like OEM.

Ha... I've taken my iPod out of my car once in the last 2+ years... When I switched from my Mini to the 5g one... But you can't see it... ;)

Gentlemen - I know its late in the game, but we received the pieces decided they could be even better.

In the meantime, we're going to pull the eurotray and have a v2 redesign and attempt to place the sliding cover back on the tray as well as the cupholder "triggers".

While this is the more expensive route - we feel it is the best course of action to take.

Everyone's feedback is greatly appreciated on this as we do not want to release a product that no one is not 100% satisfied with. Hopefully, we can respond to this thread with v2 eurotray shortly.

The AUX cable will probably not be long enough to reach the eurotray, unless you're willing to lengthen the 3 signal wires yourself. This should be easy enough to do.

bmwstephen
10-16-2006, 02:29 AM
that jsut requires splicing wires correct? The aux cable does reach a little pass the first cup socket in the cupholder but i know it wont reach anywhere near the coin holder area

You're just lengthening wires, it's very simple. If you cut towards the middle - you'll avoid the resistor (required to tell the Business CD that AUX is present) at the input jack.

You're the one that bumped the thread - as well as others of ours. This thread is not a sticky.

No information has been given since there isn't any real reports at this time. We are very busy on multiple projects (including the eurotray), and may be switching manufacturers in an atempt to keep the costs down and expedite introducing the product to market.

We have met with another manufacturer a short while ago on this item and spoke about some options. While we have received some quotes - they are way out of the spectrum of what people will be willing to pay for this piece.

In the meantime, we will not be providing any updates nor an ETA until this is ready for release.

i stumbled upon this thread completely by accident.
lately in my car im always thinking - i wish there was one cupholder and the other one was a eurotray.

i started searching if such a thing existed or maybe there was a DIY and came upon this.

this would be a huge product as I'm sure Tom knows. I'm guessing the manufacturer was asking for an arm and a leg to produce it.

What are you guys willing to pay for this just to give Tom an idea.
