Gigalumen HIDs!

Why Choose a Gigalumen HID Kit?
AutoWerks has partnered with a leading team of specialists in optoelectronics and materials with Gigalumen. Besides acquiring leading technology and being backed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute, we have self-developed patented technology.

* Lifetime warranty for original purchaser. Why worry about a burned out bulb or ballast failure ever? Gigalumen has consistently demonstrated the lowest failure rates among any HID manufacturer and we back up that claim with our class leading warranty.

* No flickering during warm-up and steady state. Why settle for less than brand name levels of performance? Many aftermarket kits have flickering problems every time you turn on your headlights. Gigalumen shines steady and bright every time.

* No fault codes or failure warning lights for BMW applications! Most BMWs have onboard diagnostic systems that monitor for bulb failures. When you upgrade from a stock halogen bulb to a Xenon/HID kit your car may interpret this as a bulb failure since the two systems have different voltage draws. THis results in a dash warning light annoyingly alerting you to a bulb failure when none exists. However, your Gigalumen kit has patented technology built into the ballast to mimic the electronic characteristics of the stock halogen bulb so your car will not show any warning lights! We would tell you how we do this but then we would have to kill you. :)

* Easy installation. Our kits come with complete instructions and simple plug and play connectors. So soldering, wire splicing or other messy wiring problems.

* Custom seat adaptors for E46 and E39 applications. If you own a 1999-2005 3 series or a 1997-2004 5 series you need a special bulb seat for ANY xenon/HID to work with your vehicle. What most other "universal" kits won't tell you is that even though they send you an H7 kit and technically your car takes an H7 bulb, their kits will not work with your car. Our kits fit every time and we are the only place you can get these custom bulb seats.

What bulb color should I choose?
A lot of this comes down to personal preference. The color, or heat index, of a bulb is measures in Kelvins. Most stock BMW xenon systems use 4500K bulbs which emit a very white, colorless light. This choice offers the greatest true light (lumens) output and results in the highest contrast which helps with visibility at night.

Higher Kelvin bulbs (6000K or 8000K) have more blue content to the eye. These bulbs have a very distinctive look when you view the car from the front. You may have noticed a bluish glow from the headlights of an oncoming Porsche Turbo or Audi - these are 6000K bulbs. When driving your car you will not notice much of a difference. For example, the light in front of you will not appear blue at all. The higher Kelvin bulbs do produce slightly less lumens than a 4500K bulb but the difference is small.

all stock xenon systems have to be 4300k by law. It's the difference in projector geometry that changes the color affect within production HID's. More light refraction makes visible light more purple. This is why it seems that colors change from on-coming cars as they approach you (especially Nissan cars)

Basically the bulb is regulated at 4300k light level, but the lense refracts that to what 'appears' to be different Kelvin intensities.

how's this kit compared to Visionbulbs kit? I like the lifetime warranty but Visionbulbs kit is priced only at 200 and I believe their kit won't give error codes either.

Say you buy the Vision kit. It has a one year warranty, after the year is up, something goes out on the kit, you're forced to buy a new bulb, ballast and maybe even a new kit. With the Gigalumen kit, you wont ever have to worry about anything breaking on you, because you're covered for the life of your vehicle. Think in the long run, if you're going to be replacing parts of your HID kit later down the road, you'll be spending more than you did this one time.

So, with the voltage technology in these bulbs, would someone needing a LCM reflash not need a reflash anymore? Because that alone would save me about $200 and missed hours at work. I would buy these in a heartbeat

Hello Chris,

Can you get these bulbs in D2R? I'm looking to put the 6000K into a 2006 Grand Cherokee. Also, does the ballast require a seperate plug-in to the battery? Or is it Vehicle Harness > Ballast > Bulb, and that's it?

The wiring diagram is exactly like you stated. However, we don't have D2R Bulbs, we only stock D2C.
