View Full Version : DICE & Sirius Starmate Replay Integration?
I'm thinking about getting a DICE Integration unit for my Ipod. What I want to know is can I also integrate my Sirius Starmate Replay through the DICE unit?
Here is a link to the Sirius radio I have: http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/servlet/ExecMacro?nurl=control/StoreItem.vm&ctl_nbr=2640&siId=608426&catLevel=1&scLevel=0&thisCatLevel=&oldParentID=7870&catParentID=7870&scId=7875
P.S. I have a lifetime subscription on this unit so I cannot exchanging it for another unit that may integrate easier.

You can plug the Starmate into the DICE unit's integrated AUX port:

This will allow for a clean audio input for your Sirius. The DICE also lets you tune the sound with it's built-in equalizer for AUX.
Here's the kit you need:

Let me know if you have any further questions on the kit.
I did have a question about my headunit. I noticed that my factory headunit does not have a MODE button, instead it has a CD button. Does this mean that I may not be prewired for the CD Changer? Also, I found out this weekend that my headunit plays Mp3's. I was under the assumption that BMW's did not have MP3 capable headunits in 2001? My vehicle is a 2001 330Ci.

You're prewired for the CD Changer, but your radio cannot play MP3s - this became available in 2005 on the Business CD equipped vehicles.
The first sign that you do not have a 2005 radio is the CD button. Another simple way you can tell is if your track number is a 2-digit or 3-digit number. If you only have a 2-digit, you are not playing a MP3 disc.

I realize this thread is pretty much dead, but I have a question about Sirius.
Will plugging Sirius into the AUX port allow for stearing wheel controls and text display like the ipod? Or is it just like a normal AUX port with sound only?
I have a portable Sirius radio too, and would like to get it out of the dash area, but still be able to control it.

Your portable will plug into the AUX port, but AUX is not capable of steering wheel control or text. We do offer a Sirius kit that will allow these options, but it is separate from the DICE kit.

Thanks, I figured that was the case.
Is the DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW with Sirius the thing you're talking about? Whoops, I just reread you said seperate.

In order to have BMW Sirius, you will need to update your radio tuner to a 2nd Generation model - this will make you compatible. The portable unit you have will work in the meantime.

So even though I wouldn't be using the OEM Sirius radio, I would still have to update my tuner to be able to use the portible Sirius radio through the wheel and dash.

You cannot use a portable unit with your steering wheel controls. All control will be performed on the unit itself.
Only OEM Sirius can be used with the steering wheel controls and retain your DICE kit. There is another device out there that can integrate Sirius (without text or presets) but this will eliminate the DICE from your BMW.

Thanks, makes sense. I was hoping there was a chance.
Thanks for the help. Quick too.
