I plan on upgrading my 2001 330xi navigation system to work with the OEM Sirius Satellite Radio module from BMW. I know that to do so, I must first upgrade my OEM Radio tuner module in the trunk.

So here's my question: Which radio tuner module do I need to buy?

From what I've read so far, BMW changed the radio tuner module in 2002 to include an AUX input that can be used for Satellite radio, I-Pod, etc. Then BMW changed the radio tuner module again in 2004 to allow switching of audio inputs from CD Changer to Sirius Radio using the same CD audio input cable already in the radio.

But I guess I'm not really understanding what the difference is between the 2002 and the 2004 radio modules? Does this mean that the 2002 module will work with Satellite radio, but that I'll need an additional cable that I wouldn't need if I got the 2004 radio module?

I'm confused. Please help.

You will need a MKIV computer in addition to a new tuner to run OEM Sirius... and by the way, a new 16:9 screen.

Thanks. I just bought the 16:9 screen and the MKIV computer. Now I need to buy the radio tuner (2003 and up) and the sirius satellite module.

Do you know the BMW part numbers for 1) the radio tuner and 2) the sirius satellite module?

What's a good place to order them from?

Thanks.
Jason
