is this a warranty issue ?
is the bilstein pss9 kit going to be a problem cause its not factory ?

I gotta say I find that very strange that the bar moved that much...try unbolting it and see whats the metal looks like under that plastic, To me it looks like the top of the shock tower pushed upward slighty... Tommy G im sure can give you a better answer than i can.

Even if there is damage I dont think BMW would even cover it. I remeber my friend worked for BMW a while back and e36's would come in all the time with the rear towers broken from potholes... I think it gets handled via your insurance co. as a accident.

Ok...your Tower Is Mostly Likely "mushroomed", Easy Fix But There Could Be A Small Tear Where The Upper Rail (holds The Fender) Meets The Tower. Very Common, Nothing To Worry About. As For The Car, I Can Help You But I Cant Give Away All The Info On Here....if Youre Interested Pm Me Or Email Me And Ill Give You The Lowdown.
It Could Be Minimal Charge To You If Any At All.....

oh and pursuing the state is a great idea but you have a better chance of seeing the 2nd coming of christ. it doesnt happen anymore

no i had it checked by j&b auto body this morning he said the bar moved you can see it , also the car isnt driving 100% i am hearing some vibrating noises at highway speeds, and upon further inspection the seams near he shock tower have moved and split
o well its just a car and it will be fixed i am glad i didnt get hurt to be honest

Check the rims to see if they're bent or not. Could be the vibration you're feeling. I slammed a nasty pothole getting off the East Tremont/ Sheridan exit of the Bronx River Pkwy and bent both front and rear driver's side rims :banghead: Have a shop spin them on the balancer machine, that was the only way you could tell mines were bent.

Ow....

I've hit some nasty pot holes and worse, some nasty sections of road where they're repaving so it's stripped of the asphalt layer and is just the bare concrete base layer and where it transitions back to asphalt it makes for a violent bottoming out experience... There was this horrible section of the GCP right near Exit 21 (I think) to I-295 that was unpaved for a few weeks, and you get no warning until it's right up on you. First time I took it doing like 70 never getting the chance to react and I thought my ribs has all bunched up together near my neck...

Friggin road work...

thanks for linking that , but the car is going to the body shop they have to check the whole suspension on the machine rims, ect so i am just going to have them replace the air bag, i am not sure how it all works but i know you need to put new air bags in a car
this is a lease so i do not want any problems later on

also on a side note
bmw said they would warranty the air bag & module as long as i sign some paper stating i will not sue them , but any other damage will have to be handled by my insurace company

right now i am worried that the strut is dfamaged and since its a bilstein pss9 i do not know if i can order just 1 or 2 or if i have to mail it to them to be fixed cause i rly dont want to wait for them anyone ever hear of a strut going bad from a big pot hole ?

sux :( I've heard of that happening quite a few times on M's though.

Yeah it really sucks, definitely a downside to having cars that ride low and stiff. I've driven alot of cars and when my wife complained about the rough ride when we got the M3 I figured it was just switching from the Jeep GCL to a sports car. But then we bought our GTI and wow, really makes you realize just how stiff even the stock suspension on an M3 is. The GTI has been a blessing, the M3 never comes out on the weekends anymore now, and she pretty much hasn't been in the M3 since we got the GTI (WOO HOO! J/K ok not really LOL)

But it does really suck, probably only/more so with us being in the North East. My brother-in-law never has complaints out west in Cali. I want to get PSS9s for my car but not with the way the roads are around here. I already have enough of a headache with the front lip... I've definitely hit some potholes or "metal thingies" that have made my teeth rattle and joints hurt and made me cringe at possible damage. So far so good, knock on wood...

Good luck Ispeed

Around that biggggg wide turn where theyre doing to construction right? :tsk: Theyve been doing construction there for almost 2 years and it still looks the same as it did when they first started. The service rd right there is even worse then the highway. I dont even jump on the 95 with my car from there. I take the hutch from this way...

East tremont to Bruckner Blvd towards Zerega.. Get on the hutch north from there.. To the i-95 north. You'll skip that whole construction zone.

Good luck with the car

What!? That's even worse. There's a part of the cement pavement that's lifted up as you exit the Brunckner for Zerega/ Hutch. I hit that sh!t and my HK sub came loose and ended up dropping off :(. Then the little draw bridge section just after you cross Zerega makes me feel like I am on a jack hammer. Cross Bronx, Bruckner, Bronx River section that crosses over the train yard all suck bigtime!
