Will AA stg 2 SC m3 be able to hang with e60 m5?

I would think so.

Only if it has about 500 rwhp. Being that it is lighter than a M5 it would be close even with 450 rwhp but it better have all the bugs and whistles. Also it depends on the supercharger the M3 has. Considering what i have researched about the new TS supercharger it will be tough to beat in a 1/8 to 1/4 mile race.

hmmm but then i don't get it... the new m5 has 507 crank hp with means it must have 400sth rwhp right? i don't know how to do the conversion but it has to be right that the m5 has to haf 400sth rwhp. if that's the case, an m3, lighter than then new m5 by 597 pounds (used the info from www.rsportscars.com/eng), with 400sth rwhp should be able to at least hang with it right?

The 507 is the rwhp for the M5/M6 from the factory. You have to remember it is a V10 that naturally produces the power.

The 507 is the BRAKE HORSE POWER (bhp) for the M5/M6 from the factory. You have to remember it is a V10 that naturally produces the power.

Fixed.

Check out the "showdown in the everglades 2" in the vids section...

Juha's stage 2 m3 races an M5...the M5 pulls on it, but its up top (well above 100). That might give you an idea.

Sorry but there is no M5 in the video. Besides the M5 we are talking about is the new 2004 up M5 producing over 500hp

Dude, are you on the same forum as the rest of us? There is clearly an E60 M5 in that video, as well as in the first posts' description. Check the link..

Sorry did not see the video.
The one i was looking at was the first one they made.
You are correct.

The M5 has more torque along with an extra gear. It would be a very good race.

A stage 2 will edge out an M5 as i have before...and a stage 3 will destroy it 3+ car lengths...

See I thought that too, until I saw the vid...

Maybe that M5 was modified?

That M3 has a system in it. Weight is a key factor too

True, but I think he took it out...

I test drove that car about a month ago looking to buy it and it wasn't in it...

A stage 2 or 3 supercharged M3 will not put out the numbers to beat a M5/M6 unless you got nitrous for that extra kick.
The video proves it and I am at the track all the time. I need to get a video for you guys. Anyway, There is a M3 and M5 that are buddies that race all the time. As you know there is not much out for the M5 yet. Don't get me wrong because with a Stage 2/3 with a 75 shot of nos I seen the M3 kick asssss against the M5. Hopefully they come saturday to the track and i get some vids. It is only a 1/8 mile track. One other point, There are a few M3s that will kick the nothing out of a M5 but not with a base Stage 1/2/3 supercharger kit.

haha...you are out of your element Donny....I have a stage 3 and i raped an M6 with exhaust...easily 3 cars from 40-130ish. Some guy driving a civic had it on video and there are some site sponsors that saw me do it while leaving crystal cove. Look a trap speed. A stage 3 without NOS trapped at 123. An M6 will be lucky if it can trap at 119. Which i have seen a stage 2 trap at 118.85. And an M5 will trap at 115, 116 best.

I dont know nothing about your car. Some cars just run like hell anyway. Maybe the guy does not know how to drive. dunno But you could be one of the few that could beat a M5/M6 I know your M3 is fast and i would not dought you or anyone who says they can beat a M5/M6 and can only go off what i seen with my own eyes. The M3 had a supposely Stage 3 supercharger with Nitrous 50 shot. and still could not beat that M5 than the next week beat him so bad. i guess that is what it would take considering the M5 is bone stock. The point is, if the M5 was a stage 3 supercharger what do you think would happen. You can not compare the two but car pushing around 500hp is nothing to play with. True this!:hi:

We have a good amount of cars making mid 400's on boost alone which can take an M5 or M6 without an issue.

Werd... Btw the Stage 3 without NOS trapping 123 was at LACR, you can easily add 5mph to that at a decent track.

I will bet my nuts that when it's under 70 degrees and the sun is down, my stg.2. M3 will hand the M5 and M6 their asses!

It is unbelievable how big a difference the temperature makes. I allways thought there was something very different in my car compared to what Nate and Vik were describing their M3's to be like (when they still were stg 2's).
It wasn't until about two weeks ago when I realized that all that my car needed was cooler weather.
It was 60 degrees here for a 3-4 days and man, my car hauled ass BIG TIME!!!
Absolutely no traction in the first three gears!

I will prove this by running another race with my friend with the M5 when it gets cold again. You will be amazed about the difference!

Which brings me to the question, what could be done to bring down the IAT??
I already have the W/A injection but what else could be done...?

I saw the guys that have the M3 and M5 and they are buddies. The guy with the M3 says that they go back and forth beating up on each other. But the M5 guys says he cheats with nitrous which explains why he beats his buddy. They also told me that when they race down the I running over a hundred miles per hour the M5 always wins but on a short track where distance is a factor the M3 is the better car. The V10 is a top end car and handles better at those speeds and this is the conversation from the drives.

And to answer the question about the IAT you need to use a resistor to trick the ecu to think the IATs are lower than what they appear. a very cheap trick Juha if you are willing to do it but you will probably get a sel if the fuel goes over 1.5 increase in emission.

HUH???:hmm: Maybed you should call Karl @ AA and inform him of this trick...

Anyhow, Juha how about one of those NX coolers? I wonder what the difference would be if AA produced a water/air manifold like VF's. I would think that you would have better control of IAT's from the added efficiency.
