Why is there so much of a price difference from the M3?
The M3 kit uses a complete replacement air/water cooled manifold with a high tech cooling system and components.

Is the hp increase roughly the same?

i think m3 scs are around 450whp
more than the 100whp generated by the non - m kits

Are you sure?
What are the stock numbers?
For twice the price it should be twice the hp increase.
Does this make since or i am a idiot. lol

basically you are an idiot (just kidding)
the reason the m3 kit costs more is because the intake manifold is much more complicated on that car. i dont know much about it per se but it uses seperate throttle bodies as opposed to one for non-ms.
the reason the kit makes more power is a function of simple +% power when applied to a larger base number will, of course, result in higher numeric gains.
by my crude estimations:
non-m stock - 189whp sced 289whp 100hp increase
mstock - 300whp sced 450whp 150hp increase
not to mention your theory of twice the money twice the power doesnt take into account diminishing returns WHICH is huge in cars and numbers due to many factors including all kinds of engine limits, heatsoak what have you
can someone verify that i have the m3 numbers close? the kits are 450whp not bhp correct?

Sorry but your numbers are off. And i am no idiot! LOL
Also E46 should be 225-255hp (2005-2007)depending on the year it was made in. 2003 and earlier are 184bhp. Now as the M3 goes i do not know for sure but i have seen numbers as low as 260-280bhp. Ok i will attach a link below for you to see.

No intecooler, and software that I don't think is up to par...
But I'll leave it as that for my personal opinion- I don't want this thread to turn sour.

ritos530i,
Your HP numbers are wrong for the '05 E46. All '05s were 184/225 respectively. I know, I have one. In '06, all 325s were 225 and all 330s were 255.
Check your numbers again.

He meant 2006-2007, not 2005 tp 2007. The body style change in '06, and the motor changed with it.

ha ha:woot: thats funny. "Software that is not upto par", as determined by hearsay.
Off course VF or GIAC do not want to fuel any heated discussions but when something negative is mentioned without any info to substantiate their statement, we need to drop a line in.
GIAC who write our software, encrypt their work and entirely recode the ECU so that prying eyes can only see the red herring data. This has led some (who are using basic OBD2 tools to "suck out" the DME data) to believe nothing has been done in the remapping -which is exactly what GIAC wanted! If nothing had been done to the software it is quite obvious what would happen to all the thousands of engines fitted with our supercharger kits (for example: the 160 kits that our dealers have fitted to Porsche 996s and 50 kits on the 997S's or 1000 BMWs).
Off course there will always be naysayers who feel loyal to their brands but when it comes to GIAC, their modesty does not always help them: they have been writing ECU/DME software for over 15 years. Several well known tuners in the BMW industry have tried to hire them in the last 10 years. GIAC wrote private label software for BMW supercharger systems many years ago - going back to the Powerdyne days. But GIAC ended up spending most of their time in the Porsche and Audi markets. Along the way GIAC also tuned Bill Gate's Porsche 959 by re-writing the software to enable it to be smoged and street legal.
GIAC software powers some of the highest powered and fastest street and track Audis (www.stasisengineering.com) and Porsches (www.evoms.com). A little back ground research will tell you that GIAC are far beyond par.

No...the stock M3 power is 333 at the crank, less at the wheels. Of course, the 330, 325, and every other car on the planet ALSO have less horsepower at the wheels than the crank.

Hi, Brandon and Nick. I think I had at least once talked with you when I make a phone call to VF. I have 2003 BMW 325xi automatic with VF stage I kit. I had sent an e-mail a few days ago to ask about stage II. Are there any good news? I really want to have intercooler kit!! Personally speaking, your kit is the best and the best will be accomplished when I can have your stage II. I was always wondering if stage II will be 8psi or 9psi. However, I think 9psi and your estimated power seem not to be a problem for my tranmission.
How many days do I have to wait more? I read a thread saying Vf is working on the intake manifold now!! Actually, I just want to know aboutwhich month the new kit may be released.
Stage II kit + header without cat + canshaft + nitrous kit --> My ride itself will become a race car ^^
I may have to go driving school to learn semi professional skill..Wonder if there's a way to get such a certification or license for hobby. (If so, I really want to get one probably next year.)
