Hi guys,
I was talking to a few other board members here on e46 fanatics and also from the M5 board. I go down to English town (raceway park) alot and thats how I met a few of you guys and I was wondering how would it sound if I contacted the people of raceway park to have something like a bavarian day or an M vs AMG vs porsche vs S day or something of that nature. I went on a few runs also with the M5 guys E39 & E60 guys up at bear mountain so I know they are interested. I'm just tired of going down there and watching 17 second civics and sentras and 10 second mustangs that keep breaking down.
I think it will be a great event to meet everyone and see each others rides. And also see who can really perform on the track and not just by talking.
FYI- the track is closed right now for the winter and will re-open end of Feb.
If anyone is interested please respond and also tell anyone else you know. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Ever since I started workin at the dealer I ALWAYS see at least 2 X series come into the shop for some bull:censor: problems.
Back to topic I'm game for a track meet. Let me know

Yea what we can do is have a track rental. I also go to englishtown, Atco, Cecil county, and Islands dragway. SO far we have done acouple track rentals at atco because it is not alot of money and you can race the whole day. You can get them for like thursdays and stuff because if you want it for a weekend it cost alot of money. I am not sure how much englishtown charged but i know Atco charges like 100 bucks or something. You can get like a million passes in though if you want. Thats a real good idea and i am DEF down

Thanks for the heads up about atco. It will be nice to see alot of beamers and hopefully some p-cars, amg's and many more at one place so we can test out our beasts. Everytime i go to the track there is usually like 1 -2 bmw's there. I'm sick and tired of all the civics and sti's.
Alot of M5 owners from the m5board will be joining us if this happens. I met all these guys on a ride up to bear mountain a few weeks ago. You guys could check out the pics from bear mountain on there board.
Hopefully we can get some audis, p-cars to join. I know my cousin will come down from CT with his S4 and some buddies of his.
Thanks for the replies, lets keep going with this so it can truly happen.

lets do this track rental, possibly in coop w E46Fanatics.com...if its 100 bucks, i bet we could get the board to sponsor at least 25% of the cost...haha...anyway, regardless of the cooperation of the board or not, i want to do this, I could come with at least 8-15 cars with no less than 3200 hp combined!

Sounds good, the only thing is i doubt it is only $100 dollars, but I will look into it.
As an update, i contacted Raceway Park(Englishtown) and I am waiting for a response.
Also, I had alot of feedback from many people from here and other forums as well. Lets keep this going till it happens.
Also, we should invite some 335 TT's, everyone is welcome.

i meant 100 dollars each car. I think it is the track charges like 1500 for the day. Like an unlimitted amount or something

Just to give everyone an update on this situation:
I received many positive replies from this forum and others. Everyone is siked out about this idea. I personally have about 20-25 cars that will be following (not including people from the forums, E39+E60 M5's, M3's, S4's and some p-cars and modified Jettas)
I contacted Raceway park about our intentions and I am just waiting for a reply.
Just as an FYI for everyone, I want this to be a stand alone event for us not just a gathering I want this to be just for European/German cars.
I will keep everyone posted on the situation and I hope you guys keep spreading the word.
Thanks

ANNOUNCEMENT
I spoke with a rep from Raceway Park. E-Town will be hosting a BMW event this season!! I dont know exact details I am still working things out but just in case this event takes place later in the year I will organize a meet down there when the track opens(late Feb-Early March). Besides all you guys that responded(thanks for the replies) I have a few S4's coming, E39 M5's modified E60 M5's, maybe a few M6's and many many more, AMG's and P-cars. I might also have a few amazing surprises. Some very highly modified E30 M3's (turbo).
Lets help get the word further out. I will keep you guys updated.

Hey Guys,
I received more information... We cannot hold a meet on a Sunday and since trying to get there on time on a Friday evening is horrible we will have it on a Saturday. The official schedule for 2007 isn't out yet but we will try and have it within the first 2-3 weeks of the season. So that is end of Feb. begininning of March so get ready guys.
FYI- If you have never been there before please go on there site and read about the rules. The most important thing is to bring a helmet, NHRA approved and if you have an aftermarket s/c-turbo you need a fire jacket.
As the opening season day approaches we should have a better idea of what date we should have this event. I will keep you guys posted.

Have you ever ran your car @ the track? There was a s/c E36 M3 at Englishtown with drags on that couldnt even grip in 4th. He was running 12.2's @ 120+. I prefer colder weather, engine is meaner that way. Besides, they put enough resine on the track to grip.

We should actually have like an all out bmw day. Its doesn't take much to organize it(i dont think haha). We can have some vendors maybe donate acouple things to give to prize winners and all other kinds of bs like that. I am not talking from a show aspect though I WANT TO SEE SOME BIMMERS RACE down the 1/4.
I've been calling Atco and ENglishtown for the last week but they are closed for now. Lets see if we can get something going. I know the owners at atco so maybe i can ask for a favor?:thanks:

I actually talked to an event organizer from E-Town already. He is the one that informed me about the BMW event but without specifics or details. Hopefully when this meet will be a success people will take the BMW community serious when it comes to racing. I remember one of the many times I went to E-town the inspection guy looked at my helmit and said it wasn't NHRA approved and then looked at my car and said that its is ok though because I will be running 15's. Well you know what I was running low 13's all day.
I mostly want to avoid all the damn civics and sti's and mustangs that always end up breaking down at the starting line!!

True, this will be weather permiting. But since it will most likely be a saturday and saturday events are early in the day it should be fine. Also, the cold weather is the best for runs. I ran my fastest)13.3 @ 105+ in low 40 degree weather. :)

Of course we are going to run some quarter miles. It will also give everyone the opportunity to meet everyone and see all the different things they have done to there cars and also get ideas on how to improve our own cars. Every time i go there there is like only one other BMW there, y not have all these BMW's representing down there and have some fun. We will take some pics and post them up for everyone to see. I for one cant wait.
