I just bought the rainbow package from BSW and since I have a 4way amp and they did not provide me with any crossovers I am thinking there will be no way for me to use the tweeters. Is that correct for these speakers? I would call BSW but they're not open on weekends.

i'm pretty sure bsw sells sets without crossovers 'to save customers money'. generally, those who buy from bsw are not going to power the speakers they buy with an aftermarket amp. because the stock amps have built-in crossovers, the crossovers that are usually supplied with the speakers are rendered useless. so i believe bsw generally orders sets of speakers without crossovers from manufacturers.
just wait for one of the representatives to reply here.

does anyone know if it will cause distortion to just run the midbass without the tweets?

What exactly are you trying to do with your car? I can help you with any install issues you might have.

Ken,
I have bought the following components from BSW:
Nine.4 4 way amp
Nine.2 2 way amp
12" subwoofer system
Rainbow speakers without midranges since the Nine.4 won't power them
I used to have the MB Quart speakers installed, but they were to bright. I am replacing them with the rainbows.
I am simply trying to install my rainbow speakers here. I am having trouble because they did not come with crossovers and I see no way of hooking up the tweeters.
I was only asking if I could run the system without the tweeters without damaging the system as a temporary solution so I can listen to the speakers while I am waiting to get the tweeters hooked up right.

I completely understand the MB Quartz being too bright, that is why we dropped the line, alot of our customers had the same feelings. The MB Quart speakers were the only speaker sets that came with crossovers in the box simply because they could not be purchased from our distributer without crossovers. The Rainbow's require external crossovers when amplifying with an aftermarket amplifier. We keep these in stock, they are $29.95. As M3islove said, we do this to help keep our costs to most consumers as low as possible, because M3islove is correct, a majority of our customers will not use them. We do not have the crossovers on the website, but give us a call, we can get them shipped out to you the same day.
Also, no, it will not hurt the speakers to run the front mids without the tweeters, just be careful when tuning the amplifier.
