I'm almost done with my Vortech ESS SC install...If the belt can just slide on and there is too much slack, how can I tighten the belt? Any ideas? Can anyone post any pictures of supercharger belt routing? my330i site is down:( This is the only thing left to do... Any help is appreciated!

I didn't create the site to make a profit and never will use it as such, but the $167 for hosting it can sting when the timing isn't very good with other bills lol.

I couldn't have done half the stuff on my car without my330i DIY. I seriously need to send some donation your way, Marvelphx. Just yesterday, if I had your website's pictures, I wouldn't have had to struggle for hours figuring out the belt routing. Thanks! I had a panic attack when the URL didnt work...lol. I'm waiting for the daylight, so that I can route the belt correctly:thumbsup:

as Todd said the problem is most likely your main tensioner. forget the belts for a second and check out the tensioner. it should spring back strongly to position when you stop putting torque on it. (note: as im sure you know, when putting clockwise torque on the tensioner bolt the entire pulley should rotate down and to the right with a fair bit of resistance. the pulley should move quite a bit)
another problem could be an idler pulley, a. you may have forgotten one, i believe there are normally two attached to the supercharger bracket. if youve got both lossen them a bit and see if there is play in where they can sit before you tighten them down. i know Todd said the original idler for hit ts was adjustable correct? perhaps a similar mechanism is used in your kit
it would help if you mentioned how much slack you have. enough that it seems like the belt is not tight enough? then tensioner probably.
enough that you can get the belts on and off without using the tensioner? must have mis routed
from what i remember (dont have my diagrams in front of me) i believe all working pulling all turn the same direction
that is if you imagine the belt turning clockwise, all the drive pulleys should be rotating clockwise, while the idler pulley will all rotate COUNTERCLOCKWISE
hope that helps a little

Thanks for all the help guys. I definitely misrouted the belt. Way too much slack. I do have two pulleys on the SC bracket. Just waiting for the sunrise and getting this running, finally:excited: I'll keep you posted!

There is a donation button on the website, but I got burned pretty bad this year by a guy who donated $100 back in May, then decided 6 months later, he didn't want to and contested the credit card payment. Paypal sided with him since I don't provide a material thing with proof of delivery. And we know how Paypal works, they sucked it right out of my bank account.
I do my330i.com for fun, to help others, and to make things that would normally seem overwhelming become broken down to simple understanding. Everyone has it in them, just have to learn through trial and error like I did. :lmao:

This is a used ESS vortech kit. So, I figured the blower is already broken in and floored it just once with a passenger. Man, this is a rocket ship now:excited: I still have to replace my popped out powerflex bushings before I can do that again, but man, that was crazy fast.
Will post pics when I get off work!
