Hiya guys,
I have an e46 320Ci MY 2000 with the 6cyl engine and 150bhp output. My father bought it in 2000 but because we were occupied with the restoration of our Alfetta we kept her stock. But now that the Alfa Romeo project is over we decided to make a few mods in the BMW. Given the fact that me and my father are supporters of the NA engines we are thinking to proceed with the s/charged solution. After some research we concluded that the ASA/ESS s/c is the ideal for our BMW. The specific s/c increases the output of almost 100bhp(242 to be precise), with a 0-100km in 6.6(from 9.9), an increase in torque of around 10nm and a top speed of around 245(from 220). I was amazed though by its price. I recall back in the 2001 where I was thinking of purchasing a Schnitzer s/c that was only offering a 40bhp increase it costed around 5000euros. The one that I'm looking now costs 5500euros. So, I would really appreciate it if you could give me some insight, and tell me what your thoughts are.
Tnx guys,
Nikos.

I've had the ESS TX-2 tm-12 ASA blower for coupla months now and believe me, I would never go back. Everything about the asa kits make you feel as though it was meant to be there. I would highly recommend finding some1 who is getting rid of there asa kit (ofcourse for a ts-2) and save coupla thousand dollars. The ASA kits are tried true proven kits and will be perfect for your build up.

Let me tell you something, my car was a 320 6cyl, take my advice. Take your car to Aleko in Argos bmw he is the best mechanic in Greece and you can trust him and tell him to redue your car to a 3.0 litre you won't regret it, don't mess with the 2.0 litre, hell after he redid my car he put the car on the dyno and it pushed 241hp with 325nm torque and now i am waiting for ESS to send me my TS2+ 8.5psi kit. Ess is a good company.

MachRc do you by any chance know if the s/c that I'm referring to(which is TX2 8PSI by the way) has any noise? Cause I love the noise that the s/c do:woot:
Spartanwarrior tnx for the tip but no tnx... My car is a 2litre engine and I wish to keep her that way.:)
MarvelPhx it seems that the ESS Twin Screw is not available for my engine...
Tnx guys!

the asa compressor clutches at idle so you dont hear it, try a VF kit or ASA i believe both of them use compressors that spin all the time

Did you email ESS cuz I know some of the first pics posted on the forum were of the kit on a 320i 2.2 I6 over in Norway. I would ask them.

Both make sound. The Vortech much more so.

why would you want the compressor to spin all the time???
since the blower is clutched it, starts its spin at round 2800 and you will hear it whine hard like a jet til 7k. It all depends on how much you mash on the gas . Being easy on the car means NO oNE will hear anyting, especially at a stoplight.
the vortech you can hear whinning all the time.
I never kept the stock diverter valve and went with hyperboost valves (recommended by Benvo btw)
so that it sounds like a blow off valve when changing gears

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I wanted to thank you all for the input. I proceeded with the purchase of the ESS Twin Screw S/C and I have to say that I am stunned... The performance has boosted waaay to much compared to the time when the car was stock..!
Thnx guys!
