Hi, my ride is 2003 BMW 325xi steptronic.
My performance mod includes;
Level 10 torque converter and PTS upgrade, VF stage I kit without intercooler, and RE cat back free flow exhaust!!!
I am waiting for stage II kit to have intercooler, higher boost pressure, and better intake manifold.
The boost pressure will be 8-9psi!! I think if I install header and camshaft, the car may reach around 400Hp or more.
However, I really want to increase boost pressure even higher than stage II kit. More than 9psi!! Sounds like 11psi may seem to satisfy my imagination!!
Today, I wrote up a new thread to ask a few questions.
1) Normally, people install forged piston and rods to support higher boost pressure. I think the boost pressure of VF stage II kit does not have to be installed together with forged engine components. Does anyone know up to which boost pressure for E46 325 may need those forged engine parts?
---> Why am I asking this question? Because I want to figure out if I can have even higher boost pressure without internal engine mod! Of course, if that power is not satisfactory, I may think about engine mod!!
2) I heard several times about Dinan's wide throttle body. One thing I am interested in is that it changes the sound of engine. Anyway, my second question is if I need to customize ECU or fine tune ECU (In my case, ECU program from VF engineering) when I put header, camshaft and aftermarket throttle body, respectively.
I think I had installed VF kit a year ago. Unfortunately, I've got a suspension now!! I just raced with a patrol car, which I didn't recoginize as a police car at that moment!! :banghead: (I am sure it doesn't look like a police car at a first glance)
By the way, the best part of the torque converter set-up is it makes my car go faster than before. Plus, feel more sporty, crispy, and serious!! Response a way up better. Quick shifting? Frankly speaking, I can't feel it directly or significantly. I am pretty sure that it reduce time 0-60 at least 0.5sec!!!
Here's my last question!!!
3) Does anyone know what to do to pull hard and seriously in 4th gear? Maybe, if I get intercooler stage II kit, I may feel so then. --->I just heard from VF that one of several changes after installing stage II kit is quicker response in lower RPM than stage I kit. You know that especially Vortech is a bit dormant at lower RPMs. (Even so, I am also imagining that other supercharger units are the same)
===> At level 10, I saw a good and cheap item for ford to raise acceleration in 4th gear. I believe it works by lowering gear in 4th gear into 3rd gear. Huhu, I may be a spy!!:rofl:
Just want to share a pic of mine. Now much updated yet!! However, I am planning to mod a bit more.:hi:

PS> Do you think I can have Reieger or reiefer style rear arches or fender kit on my car? Can't it be customized with resonable price?
