I have a 2005 2.5 steptronic. I eventually plan on switching to a manual but for now keeping the auto. I am not interested in trading up, I got the car as a graduation present and rather enjoy not having a car payment:) My question is that with the auto would it be better to spend the money buying a 3.0 engine or to simply keep the 2.5 and get cams and ported heads? Given that the car would have a full exhaust system either way, how much difference would there be? Thanks

If you are planning on getting a supercharger, it is better to get a manual to put the power to the ground

If you really want to get the most power out of your car for the best price, a stage 1 s/c kit would do the trick nicely. You'll get the added power, not have to swap to a manual trans, and the kit wont destroy the transmission. In what you'd spend in parts and labor vs. final power gains, the s/c kit is a better option and if you ever decide to sell it, you can get a fair amount back from the sale of the kit. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding a kit or even possibly going N/A. Thanks-

but looking at your website, technik doesn't yet have a SC kit for the 2.5L Z4.

I'm aware of that, I'm trying to see if we can get a kit developed- just waiting to hear back on it- if not looks like N/A is the next best route-

would;ve been nice if you were talking about boosting an m roadster hehe.... but it'll be cool... Although you have a step Im not sure a stage 1 will be to much harm for it. I think it will be a funner car and it will be safe as long as your not to harsh on the tranny all the time...! good luck!

if we can find a local 2.5l z4 that's looking to add an s/c kit, we can work something out, I just got the approval-
