View Full Version : FS: Gauge cluster, Titanium rings & V1

This is the instrument cluster out of my '01 330Ci. It has the titanium rings. I mounted a concealed V1 display inside the guage cluster as well. It is the same place where RichP mounted his.

Very stealthy.

I don't think it will work with an auto or SMG car because this is where the cluster tells you which gear you are in.

I guess I shoulda cleaned the glass before taking the pics but you will see that the cluster is in perfect condition.

Please email me if you are interested: g0speedracer@hotmail.com

truth is i am not sure what to ask for this

I have never seen anyone selling the whole cluster with a V1 display mounted in it.

Right now peeps just have to make me offers and the highest gets it. (Reasonable offers)

FWIW, I sold an instrument cluster alone to someone for $200. :)
Figure your V1 thing costed $50, and maybe an additional $50-$100 for your work :). I would ask for $300-$350

The buyer will need to have their car reprogrammed for the cluster...

the titanium rings are goin for 45 bucks now in the GB, just fyi, also, when you have the V1 in there, do you still need to have the sensors and the whole unit stuck to the window??

Speed Racer

$45 hmmm? I'll have to check on that. Are they OEM or aftermarket?

The V1 is just the hidaway display. you will still need the main unit. If you would like to see a prime example of how stealthy you can make your V1 you should check out RichP's car. He is the one that gave me the idea for the display. He has his main unit mounted on teh rear deck lid inbetween the speakers.

wow...........hope you're ok bro!!!

can someone pls enlighten me and tell me what exactly a 'V1' is? as i understand it, it's "valentine 1"....right? elaborate pls!

Speed Racer
11-28-2002, 08:06 AM
yes i am fine,
these cars are amazingly safe

the v1 is the valentine1 which is a radar detector
www.valentine1.com

these are considered by most to be the best radar detectors on the market

what i did was mount the remote display inside the instrument cluster so that noone would be able to know if i had a radar detector or not.

hey i im sorry about your car - i was wondering if you had zenons on your car? -if they wernt damaged are you selling them?

Speed Racer
11-28-2002, 06:35 PM
It depends on how you install the main unit
you should look at the way RichP did his install

he put the main unit on the rear deck inbetween the rear headrests

it is extremely stealth, very sick

I do still have the xenons for sale, check your PM

uh correct me if im wrong but uh....doesnt the rpm of the 330 higher then 6000k that look more like the cluster of a 325i. just my 2 cent

Speed Racer
12-17-2002, 10:38 PM
I am sorry but I think you might be wrong on this one or BMW screwed up at the factory and put the wrong cluster in my car, which I highly doubt. Trust me, this came out of my 2001 330Ci.

I do not have any instructions on how to intall the V1 but I do know how. Tell ya what, why don't you buy my cluster and then just sell yours. That way you will not have to install anything.

BAVARIAN323i: A small rise in the road, tight corner and a little too much speed.

suhster85: I think you may have misunderstood. I do not have any DIY instructions but I do know how to do it.

Lexie330ci: Sorry but the trim was in pretty bad shape after the accident.
