Right now I'am talking with AA about getting a TS system put in my car. Great people very busy but they finally got back to me and explained everything, such as what I would need to attain the goal I have set for my car:craig: .
So right now as my car is bone stock I want to prep it for FI. I call up Super Sprint and they tell me that the complete exhaust with header's and cats is going to be roughly $5200.00:hmm: . Now I am no expert on the BMW cars but I am sure no body will pay that much for headers and exhaust. I thought it be a whole lot less:cry: . Anyways guys if you know of some one that can lend me a guiding hand as to where I can get a full exhaust system for the car such as mine 05 Z4 2.5 5 sp manual. I really don't care to have cats on the exhaust prefer not to but don't want cels errors to come up.
Any of fellas know a retailer or brand of exhaust that is good quality like SS and isn't this expensive.
Edvin Thank you.
PS: prefer a local shop that can install it too that be great, I live in Clearwater so Tampa is fine not too far for me.

That price isn't as outlandish as it might seem. Are they installing the pieces too?
the supersprint headers costs $1600, the cats $2200, center pipe $400, and muffler $1100. Add all those together and you get $5300. All of those prices are right off he SS NA website:

a Z4 ain't a civic. modding doesn't come cheap.

Just to add my 2 cent. It doesn't matter what car you drive all the exhaust are made from the same stuff.. So because it's a BMW manufactors want to charge more. Any way if you really want to save money find a local exhaust shop and have them remove the muffler and resonator and run straight pipes. Florida doesn't have smog testing. Make sure you save the muffler and resonator just incase its too loud for your liken and you could have the resonator but back on. For the Cats have the same shop build you a pipe that fit in the place of the cats. If they dont want to install them just have them build it. make sure they run a pipe thru the tube going across. Sorry but you will have to purchase the headers at cost but the rest of the car can all be customise. I did this for $150s and left the stock manifolds on. It is loud as hell but I got used to it. Also i had a custom pipe added for the tips. My car sounds like a V8 and since i am running an all nitrous system it really helps with back pressure. Don't for get its all just piping and it should not cost 5k. If you just have to have free flow mufflers get them from Autozone.
I know this because my friend has the SS setup that he paid $XXXX dollars and i paid on $150 and not a penny more and he is pissed that my exhaust out preforms his and much more productive.

That's what you get for buying SuperSprint stuff. I'm sure you can do better elsewhere.
Technik Headers for your car are $1300, there's a $300 savings right there.

So I can buy headers and just run straight pipes. Hmm:4ngie: sounds interesting, will this give the TS system any trouble. I do like my exhaust to be loud like my C5 was.

If you run headers w/o cats, the car is probably going to be very loud. But, some people (me) don't mind a car with a good sound. I'd probably do headers and maybe buy the Super Sprint rear section and have custom piping done in between. My friend is running the TS on his 330Ci w/o cats and w/ an AA rear section. I think it sounds great.

And yes, so we're clear, $5200 for an exhaust is a rip-off. Even if you got 50 hp from it, that's still $104/hp. Not a good ratio, IMHO.

What's he doing for O2 sensors?

It's not like you NEED any exhaust work to run the sc. IMO the money would be better spent on a new clutch/lightweight flywheel.

FI cams will make a much larger difference than headers for virtually same $.

Right forget about the $5200 exhaust systems because it makes no since when you can have that money in cams or clutch where it really counts. With the TS kit forget about gears. The stock gears are fine unless you have 3.46s or higher.
BTW When i get the car back i will see about putting up a sound track of my exhaust. Most people think the motor is completely rebuilt or I have a V8 racing motor or something. Just before i put the car in the shop i was at the track waiting to run when i saw the first M3 ever to show up at our track here. When he found out that i run my car he wanted to race just to see how we compare. I told him the car was completely stock :) and when I started the car he was already lined up waiting on me. When i pulled up beside him launching at 5k rmps, he tried to rev his car because he was just going to stump and go against the heavy 530i. When i was finished he was at the 60 ft mark with a bad clutch and had to be towed off the line. Since it was only two weeks old i felt bad for the guy because he was trying to see how it runs before he started his modes. I think he was intimidated due to my loud exhaust that made him think he needed to launch hard off the line.
Anyway its the only mod you can cut the corners with that is money well spent. $150

I am soo down with Headers and straight pipe idea. I can use the rest of the money buying cams and clutch. Now lol I need to cut corner's during the remodeling of my pool this may and all of this comes true. I am using left over money from the home remodeling to beef up my toy's.
But what about cells do you get them coming up and I have some sort of check engine or service engine bal bla bal due to straight pipes.

good luck finding a place that will do a custom exhaust for $150 in Tampa (or anywhere in FL). Especially with a BMW. They'll ask for more just because you drive a Bimmer. If you had a Vette you should know about the "Vette tax" concept.
Oh, and Racing Dynamics sells 6cyl headers for $800. I'd do headers, cat delete (if you can without getting errors), straight pipe, and stock rear section (to keep it "sleeperish"). But even if you change the muffler/resonator, don't expect a 6cyl BMW motor to sound like an LS1.

I have the AA TS with Technik headers straight piped to an Eisenmann race muffler. I have a place Mad Hatter's cut out the resonators and weld in straight pipes for about $120. I think it sounds good, although it is loud a raspy.

If you went in on that GB for SS in the past, it wouldn't be that much. I have a full SS system from the headers to the exhaust tips. I also have the Technik headers, Gen 1, but they are just polished interior SS headers. I am happy with my setup. You basically pay for the name. Similar to why would someone pay $20k for the Dixis muffler for the E46 M3. It is what you want to spend. Don't knock others for what they spend their mod money on. :)

???? ???? Ok who am I knocking dude. I just asked if these guys where bending me over on our first date. From the looks of things they are, I can get a set of AA headers for 950. So what I was doing is shopping around looking for the best deal I can get. I am sorry that offended you but I don't care who I buy it from as long as its good.
On another note, if I were to throw headers on with just straight pipes into a exhaust of whatever brand will I get cells from that, any one got a clue.

Ok if you are worried about sels on the exhaust and even the after market exhaust system cause sels. You need a spark fouler plug that will fit in the O2 location and the O2 on top of it. Just ask around how to do it but most all the after market exhaust system causes Sels.
Now, this is not to knock anyone who spends the money on exhaust but to help a guy out that is trying to save lots of money and get more performance out of his setup. Even if he paid 1k for a custom exhaust it would save him money. That was the whole point. I know because i did it my self. On other things for my car i have spent the money for it but don't think i should because i drive a BMW. I spend 60k on my BMW and found out later I could have ordered one with the same specs for 54k. Wish someone would have told me before i spent the money.
GodsendDeath if you can find a local exhaust shop to do this for you you would save tons of money and have enough for the TS2 +. Like i said, you don't have to do the cats yet but the resonator and the muffler can come off and you want have to worry about sels. If you remove the Cats do it about three weeks or so after the other deletes to give you ecu time to adjust then remove the cats. I can say if the cats are not done right the car will go into limp mode so do that last and make sure its done right. Have ESS/AA remap you ecu for this when you are installing your TS kit. You will be amazed at how well the car likes it. Not to mention the extra weight the resonator and muffler has.
Good luck and hope this helps

I got no CELs on my system since there are holes for pre and post O2 sensors on the cats. Get the Random Technology cats and put pre and post O2 sensors at the cat.
Why not get headers and the TSE3 since you don't want cats? Full catback with headers. UUC is a reputable company. It will be loud as hell, but just a suggestion.

Thanks guy's, got a ton of feed back here and lots of personal advice. Ive been talking with Sami from Active Autowerks and we found a solution and I think I will go that route. AA got there headers for my car or I can chose any brand I want and straight pipe it with there software to keep the cell from coming up.

get ebay headers they are great and are only 350 shipped. Doesnt make any sense to spend $1k more for bent pipes. especially since they are replicas. The build quality is just as good to i have had mine on now for 20k miles and there is nothing wrong with them what so ever.

What is the link to the headers on ebay?
I have heard so many people mention about these headers on ebay that is just as good i would be interested and finding more information about them.
Thanks

I would like to look into those ebay headers too, but I just had a horrific time buying stuff for my car from ebay.
it's easy.
get their headers $1600, and center pipe $400. leave the section 1 stock (free) and custom make a straight pipe coming out of the rear (about $100)
about $2100 + installations.

Motometrics over on Ulmerton and Starky, right across the rail road tracks. Good people, my friend's dad owns the place and he is on baybimmers.com too. They do all sorts of things to cars, my friend who's family owns the place has an E30 and they put an S52 in it, that thing is quick!
