Depends on what you are looking for. At the same boost psi, the peak HP/TQ numbers are pretty close between the two. The big difference is where in the revband the power is made. I've owned them both on my ZHP and at wide open:
A TS makes full boost very early in the rpm (say 3k or so) and carries full boost to redline. This creates more of a V8 feel, pulling hard early and strong to redline. I call it my deceptively fast car as you don't realize how fast it really is because it is so smooth to drive and power is all over the tach. Downside is it costs more.
A centri makes boost with rpms. Boost begins to arrive around 2500-3500 rpm (depends on kit) and full boost is only acheived at redline. This creates more of a turbo effect, stock feel down low, but after ~3k it slowly pulls harder and harder as you climb in RPMs. All the power is higher up in RPM. Prices are coming down.
Don't bother worrying about efficiencies, the new TS's match or exceed centris in that department. Gas mileage is about the same as both use bypass systems. Same with noise, my ASA was no quiter or louder than my Lysholm.
So, what you want to decide is... do you want the power down low or up high. The way I look at it is:
Which do you do more, go 0-70 mph or do top speed runs? There is your answer.
EDIT: They can both be upgraded as far as you want to go. Your wallet is the limit.

that is why I spent the extra $$ for the TS setup (or approved the expense, still waiting...)

Would there be a way to counter the fact it has the stock feel in the low end?

It does to.. More power througout the entire powerband will accelerate faster. The best CF's only match the TS at maximum RPM and unless you have a custom built CVVT transmission that keeps your CF engine at that specific RPM all the time when accelerating the TS will be faster.

AJ, buddy...any news from the coating folks...? Well, I know one thing for sure, the TS will not be installed before my first showing this Friday/Saturday. Can we have it on and installed by May 5th???

The manifold has been completed. We are currently waiting on the SC intake elbow to come back from them. We ordered 1 set (manifold and elbow) express anodized, but apparently they only expressed one manifold and not the intake elbow. If you think a alu colored SC elbow is OK then we are ready to ship, if not the black one should arrive here shortly. I will keep you posted.

Hey Asbjorn,
Did you get my email about the ESSsupercharged emblems? They look pretty awesome, and I hope I'm entitled to one.
I know ESS doesn't sell the VT kit anymore, but even this "old" kit is awesome. The kit is very well designed. I can't even imagine what the TS would do!
