About a week after installing my nitrous wet kit, I have been having fuel pressure problem. My fuel pressure dropped from 50 psi to 40 psi. 95% of them time when I start my car, it takes about 5 seconds before my car kicks in. Can anybody help with this? Is it my fuel pump? Fuel filter? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Also I just scanned for codes because I am having trouble with my car. I started up my car and the service engine light, eml light, and the dsc light came on. I tried to drive and I can not go past 2000 rpm. Scanned for codes and 1580 and 1624 came up. 1580 is Throttle valve mechanically stuck. What does that mean? What should I do?

My friend did my install. I took my car to my shop the other day and they said the install was done fine. But I am taking it back in tomorrow for the problems I am having. I just wanted some info before I take it in so I know what to expect.

I have a NX wet kit w/ 50 shot. My shop said everything was installed correctly. I am just thinking that my stock internals can't handle it.

I reset the codes so it is driving fine, but im still having that problem when im starting my car.

Well if you reset it and its driving fine I would think that something is hooked up wrong. The internals shold be fine with just a 50 shot.

I will tomorrow. I am actually at work. If anybody lives in the Newport Beach area and wants to stop by the Hyatt on Jamboree and PCH to look at my car, feel free.:)

A 50 shot should not damage anything as long as the kit is hooked up right.
I live in the same exact area and I could come by with my friend if you would like; send me a PM.

Can you tell me where you have the nozzle located?
Is it after the maf or how close is it to the TB?
Let me know. Also in the mean time have you had the O2 sensors changed before. I can tell you they want last running rich or lean. Also did you have your ECU mapped?

your fuel filter might need changing (when was the last time you changed it) I really do not think your engine is hurt what so ever, all the programs that you stated seem to be fuel related. If someone else did your install make them check the fuel line. Maybe when they T tapped it they F up and got some teflon in the line. If you have time later this week I would love to check out your car seeing that I will be FINALLy doing my setup (myself) sometime next week. BTW how did you tune your car, do you have a wideband A/F Gauge.

Lastly Love the way your car looks!

Just went and got my car checked! My fuel was running to lean. My car is running fine but my mechanic said that I might need to change the fuel pump. But all in all everything is fine.

Could you just change to a bigger injectors?

Just run with a bigger jet on the fuel side!
Use this calculator

Your engine is fine your fuel pump is should have plenty of juice.
EML has something to do with the throttle bodies, possibly the MAF I believe as well.
If your runnign to lean, up the jet on the fuel side of the N20 setup.

I can't say that I know what's wrong, but I would not use nitrous until you've got the fuel pressure dip sorted out.
To trouble shoot this, I would jet the nitrous system to feed 50 HP worth of fuel into the engine with the bottle disconnected. Activate the system and try to isolate a component of the fuel system that is failing.
I do NOT recommend re-jetting the nitrous system to compensate for the fuel system problem....this will not solve anything.

Why wouldn't it work if he upped his fuel jet?

You are correct that is one way to test for any issues with leaning out but Adam is correct too.
We are all just trying to help from our experience.
I can tell you that he could unplug fuel and nitrous and spray then in a bottle but that will not tell you much but both lines are feeding the system.
In my opinion he needs to check the pressure on the bottle when he is activating the bottle or check his fuel pressure as well. Also where is he getting the fuel from. If its not the fuel rail, he may need to use the fuel rail where pressure is build up at.
Its so many things that could be going wrong. I know this because he is where i was once and thats how I got the experience that i have by trial and error.
Good luck and just keep trying its probably something very simple and he will laugh at himself when he finds out the problem. Kara you know what i mean because you seen my write up as i was having a very hard time with my system. But now i can tell you that I know my engine and how to do my nitrous system without any worries.

I never thought Bmw's had a fuel rail, do you know where it is located in a M3?

In the M3, right above the throttle bodies there are two long cylinders going the length of the block. The larger one is the fuel rail, the smaller is the idle air circuit.

How would you tap into something like that for the nos install?

On my fuel rail there is a pressure valve mounted on top that looks like a tire valve nut just unscrew that and remove the valve stem inside. Before you remove it make sure you either remove the fuel fuses or find some method to prevent fuel from flowing all over the engine bay. You will need some towels to soak up some fuel. Also MarvelPhx has used a technic to prevent fuel from spitting out. I believe he used a air hose to force the fuel out of the fuel rail before removing the stem.

try looking for fuel leaks! Or change it from a wet to dry system. a 50 or even 75 shot of dry no2 is fine with out having to tune ur car. and see if that fixes it. but if u go this route make sure u put the nossle in the intake filter and make sure its as far away from the MAF sensor as possible
