After 5 weekends, having to wait for various parts, several emails/phone calls to VF, dealing with work (I could only work on the car on the weekends), family vacation, a dealer who didn't update the software, etc, I have finally joined the F/I club. I just completed the install of a VF Stage I S/C kit on my E46 M3. At the first turn of the key (while holding my breath :eek: ) the car started right up. After a short test drive I had a smile on my face (although I didn't really push it since the system still needs to be broken in).
This install was by far the most complex I have ever undertaken and it was the first I completed on my E46 M3. If I ever get around to it, I plan on putting up a small website documenting my experience. It is not necessarily a "how to" but rather an info site for those who are brave enough to tackle such an install. I wish I would have had something like that when I was doing my initial research, etc.
