Just thought we would post up this image of e46 engine covers we can now supply, withthe BMW logo and stripes showing. Not sure if similar items have been offered before, but we have not seen any .....$390 usd plus OEM parts ( or exchange) plus shipping.

UK / Europe cost is £299 gbp plus oem parts.

thanks

Did you find a US distributor yet? Awesome products but too expensive.

thanks for posting

we sell quite a bit to US customers, including Eurowerx team.

Considering the quality you see,the design and the fact we use OEM parts, can you get it for much less in the U.S. ? We would be interested in a comparison

thanks

I like it because it has that OEM touch with the stripes and all. All of the ones I've seen are just plain. i like that one, especially for a non-M car!

Hi Roy... it's me, Navin (Bob's friend and fellow member of Eurowerkz (note the correct spelling) - you had made me my CF 323i badge if you remember) :)

I'm really interested in the CF engine cover with the "BMW" and stripes still on the cover (been looking for this for a LONG time).

I will shoot you a separate email (keep an eye out for it).

To answer your question, yes there was a company who had made this same carbon fiber engine cover before with the BMW and stripes still on the cover. The only problem was that this particular CF engine cover was prone to YELLOWING due to the high heat coming from the engine - probably the resin that was used was not of good quality, hence the yellowing.

Have you tested your particular CF engine cover to determine whether it will yellow from the engine heat?

Thanks,
Navin

Hi Roy! I'm doing just fine, bro. Glad to see that you've been busy coming out with new CF products for us.

I'm glad that there are no discoloration issues with your covers... there's nothing uglier than black CF when it yellows.

By the way, I was pleasantly surprised to see my car pic on your website (where you have the CF trunklid badges listed for sale). My first thought was, "God, that silver 323i with the CF 323i badge looks so FAMILIAR".
I got your email by the way... looking forward to getting the price from you.

Nice covers but way too expensive..plus its not like it is made of 100% CF, its wrapped..And I really hope that a dry process was used. Wet lay up discolors and turns yellow..I've been through the nightmare..

thanks for posting DarXride.

As explained the reason these seem expensive is that the exchange rate is so much against you, to us it is only half the price that it seems to you, if you see what I mean...

Obviously these are not 100% carbon ( or you would not be able to have the OEM silver lines and BMW lettering).

To clear up a common misnomer, ALL laminated carbon fibre products are "WET laid " as such. The dry carbon matting must have "wet" resin applied to it. It is the quality of the carbons and resins used, the lay up procedure as well as correct use of vacuum bagging and curing that make the difference between poor and good quality products.

To further enhance the quality, where the shape of the product allows, we use "pre preg" carbon sheets in both our laminated and 100% carbon products. This basically means the carbon matting is pre impregnated with the resin already, and often requires use of an autoclave. This is what most manufactures would refer to as "dry" carbon fibre.
