I am trying to replace the 6 front stage speakers with a 2 way system consisting of a 2k-20khz tweeter, and a 35hz-5khz woofer(I have already ordered these speakers) on each side to the OEM amp and am not sure how I should wire the midrange since the OEM amp has the 3 sets of wires and has built-in crossovers. Would it work to twist together the midrange and midbass wires and just run them to the new woofer.- But since my woofer peaks at 5k, am I going to lose a bit of midrange. Or shoulkd I just leave the stock midranges attached as is

I guess my question is what are the stock crossover points(This is a non-hk setup).

I am going to run a separate amp and subs in the back.

i am not looking for a pro setup, just something that is going to sound cleaner, but not planning on spending a bunch of money

Don't know what the stock crossover poits are, but you can not tie outputs together, so, assuming your speakers will match the impedance of the amp and work within the OEM frequency range, you would have a hole on frequency response on the mids. Best to get an aftermarket amp, at least for the fronts.
