ok so, these things are fun as hell. period. it takes a little while to get started because of registration and everything but overall it was fun. Nothing else like it in jersey i can bet you that much. Good music, and these things are pretty damn fast! just make sure you are over 18 or you will get the half speed ones:thumbsup:

That place is AWESOME, just got back. The karts are VERY quick and the course is challenging. My boy rocked a wall at top speed and was HURTING bad the rest of the night. I had a great time there.

The track is very technical , some parts are fast others are slow and need to be taking correctly or you'll end up in a wall or backwards.

If you have ever taking you car to a AutoX and have "OverDriven" it , you'll understand y u fishtailed the Kart into a corner

Its electric and indoors, the karts are really quick and thanks to the fact that there electric, the TQ curve is flat.These karts accelerate to full power almost immediately . The onsite food court is nice aswell, I didnt eat there but it looked good.

Its right next to the Mitsubishi dealer and its also really close to Bergen Lambo

I got there around 8pm on Sat Night... waiting around 20 mins to get into the "saftey brief" and then waiting a few to race.

We had 2 sessions, after we finished our first it was around 10 mins to get back on the track. Only thing that sucked was that the computer timing system was not working so we didnt get any times for the runs we did.

Was just there today, its a mile away from my house!!:thumbsup: The place is amazing!!:drool: It wasnt crowded at all. Had so much fun; i ran with a few friends. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is top notch:bow:

off the hook. we had a freakin blast. not the easiest parking lot to get into but pull into mitsubishi and its connected.
the address is building 87 on rt 17. good luck finding that on mapquest or navi. opposite side of garden state plaze but south about 1 mile, a little bit past park ave bmw and right near parkfield saab

heres my review:
-my fastest lap 46.075, dont come talking smack unless you can scan your times for proof
-sign up was a mess b/c none of the girls wanted to tell you where to go. so come in and enter all your info on the computers to the right, then pay $20 for a year membership (yes u have to) then its $18.50 per race with lasts about 7 laps or 7-8 minutes
-enter the track room (its hot in there) wait in line (takes a while) and you have to watch a safety video.
-get your head condoms and put on a helmet and neck brace
-stand in next line to wait to be sat in the karts
-you enter the track, and its not an agressive go-kart race like youre used to. its all about times. there will be passing and such but its not your grandmas go-kart
-electric is good, no fumes, no lag time to speed and these suckers move about 35 mph
-the course is hot, very easy to pitch these things sideways or lock up the rears and drift but youre too busy trying to get fastest lap to care. if you cant drive on the streets you will suck here!!!
-they let 8 carts on the track but told me 14 is the max at one time and you have to twist their arms to do that
-when youre race is over they give you a print out of all your lap times and some stats. you can also see your position on the leader board on the walls.
-they can shut off, or slow down any kart at any time via computer so if you are messing around too much theyll shoot your power, but were not overly strict
-dont take your girls, its boring as hell for them (mine bailed last minute) and its hot in there

simulators-we were talking to the guys and they have a "tactical unit" simulator that shoots plastic bullets at you. NO JOKE, 120 ft/per second and if you get hit its like a paintball but harder. you get a guy and areas to hide to shoot the computer but it shoots back!!!

GUYS CHECK IT OUT, GET SOME PRACTICE AND THEN WE'LL TALK ABOUT A FANATICS MEET!!! im sure weekends will be mobbed but we went last night from 930-1130 and only had time for 2 races

you can go 8-14 (max) people at a time but 8 is the norm.
intentional rubbing is frowned upon and they'll just kill your power via computer but occasional rubbing it going to happen but its not the kind of design where you run into it much

They charge $20 per session but cant afford to run the AC on the track, it must of been over 90 inside that track last night. I spent almost 20 mins sitting in a kart waiting to be let on the track. The employees are idiots, they either forget to record your lap or just put your in the wrong car. And almost every fast lap on the leader board belongs to an employee.

They really need to change there policys, employee's and customers should never be on the track at the same time. There was a situation with my friend last night that the track manager was behind him and all the ref's are blue flagging my friend because the manager was on the track. My friend also has the 3rd fastest time on the board, so it isnt like he was moving slow.

Ive gotten to the point where the karts feel slow and the small amount of B.S. is all adding up.

I felt you would have to go there either right at opening or just before close to get an accurate timed run. John, When I first went I did 2 sessions and wanted to go back after the next night... lol Ive done a total of 9 sessions and I have one sitting on my card right now. Its took me 9 sessions to really just get bored of the place, but I have A.D.D ;) Im gunna go back some day, but I need some time otherwise im really gunna dislike the place.

just remember a few things, just b/c you feel fast it isnt always fast...did you push all the way into the turns before letting off the gas? did you over steer and cause the azz to slide? did you take the shortest smoothest route?
all these things can cause you to "scrub" off speed in the corners and cost fractions of seconds but after 7 turns it adds up

Maybe Tommy, but I pushed the kart as hard as I could and it felt like I was flying. Ironically, when I got my fastest lap, I was following someone in front of me closely so having a "pace car" so to speak until I shot out and passed him for a faster lap time. I only did 2 races so I was happy with a 47 sec. lap for my first time. I know 1 or 2 more races and I would be down to those record times. The hard part is not getting slowed by traffic. I was going so fast I felt like the flag guys were telling me to slow down...lol.....And yes Paul, it was hot as balls in there.....Did anyone ever goto this place? http://www.karts1.com/ ......Its out here in Long Island...I dont think they are as fast as V17 but a lot closer to where I live. Plus the cost is like half.....

Yes.....They can control the speed of all the karts on the track via computer... After she wiped a few times, they probably felt slower was better for her.....BTW, I'm jonesing for more laps.....Its been a week and a half and I need more.....

Dam guys I went yesterday and my best time was 51.5xx and I thought that was pretty good, but after reading your times I'm very dissapointed with myself, I think I gotta take a ride down there again to improve. But sh!t, my first lap was like 1.17 :cry: so to improve over 25seconds in two laps I still think is pretty good :). But Dam the place is expensive as hell! :banghead:

WOW, i'm pissed. I just read the rest of your post. I was about to post that I thought that V-17 sucked because when I got on the track, the karts felt SO SLOW. After I got done, I said i probably wouldn't go back because after 2-3 laps, it started to get lame. I asked myself how anyone could crash one of those things because when I first went there to check it out, I saw someone plow right into a wall.

I almost want to go get my money back because now its obvious my kart was a 1/2 speeder. I'm 23 so I don't know why me or my friends would have been limited like that. Do they do that to you on your first time? We are all over 21.

When I got out I was like wow, i can't believe all the guys on E46 rave about this place, I mean its cool but those karts are so slow. I guess its obvious now that we must have had our cars limited.

Well, what was your best time? Because I seriously doubt that you could do it an under a minute with half speed. So your numbers had to suck if it in fact was on limited speed.

i think it was 1 something...it was definitely over a minute. the best time in the group was 1.07. they let us all go at the same time so the times meant nothing, you couldn't pass anyone and if the person in front of you sucked, you were on their ass the whole time. So basically we tailed each other the whole time.
