Anybody know whether or not there exists a turbo upgrade available for the new e46 m3. I've heard of developments on a supercharger by EIS tuning. But as regards to a turbo nothing.

At the same time have any companies come out with a new sport camshaft for the car? I heard that the major problem in the development of this car was the camshaft snapping in two due to excessive power. At the same time it's why many major tuners such as ACS and Hammann haven't really messed around with engine.

Advice please.

G Power has a SC along with software and BPU's

Kelleners has BPU's

Dinan has a chip (if u wanna call it that)

Hamann has a Power package .contains BPU's

MK Motorsport has intake and i think a BPU package

The only results i have seen, have been from Kelleners, which are very impressive i might add

a local shop here in florida is building a turbo e46 m3, saw it the other day. www.midnightlab.com, maybe give them an email. they don't advertise or anything and they're just street warriors so i don't know if it's in production or not.

Compression ratio is too high for any worthwhile boost pressure. At 11.5:1, you could only run about 3-4 psi on pump fuel...not worth it when you consider the cost of a turbo package to be about $10K. Better off building the engine naturally aspirated, or installing a set of low-compression pistons (preferably 9:1) to allow for higher boost pressures.

i think they did replace the pistons maybe. they had the engine out of the car so..? i don't really know though.

Questions about your setup:

You have the stage 1 or 2 AA kit?

Have you dyno'd your car?

Any pictures?

Horse Power Freaks in Portland, OR does a killer turbo. They will require you to provide the car for the installation. They go through the entire engine. It's completely rebuilt to include all the parts that are too weak to withstand high compression. User Greg Ogden has one of the best looking HPF M3's I've ever seen. I believe he's pushing over 800hp. The ride sounds amazing, moves like a bat out of hell and looks like a million.

They're also doing a build for 330's. It's not inexpensive though. It's upwards of $8k for the work, but it's not like anything I've seen before either.

You don't have to provide your car, however they would prefer that you did ship it to them.

The stage 1&2 kits are not engine rebuilds

Greg Ogden's stage 2 doesn't put out 800hp.

And they are not doing a 330 build

Sorry

Horsepower freaks does put out an incredible turbo kit though. I would highly recommend going to them if you're looking for a turbocharger. It's extremely pricey - however you can't beat the quality.

Hmmm - when I spoke with Greg he told me that they rebuilt his engine from the ground up and that it put out around 800hp. This was just a couple months ago when I bought his M3 hood. Is it possible he had them rework it? Greg???

Just a couple months ago they said they were working on a 330 kit - It's a "no-go"?
