For the second year my wife and I have attended the BMW-Rolex sponsored Vintage Car Weekend at Limerock Park in Ct. This is a 4-day event with classic car racing on Fri, Sat, and Monday and a Fantastic car show on Sunday.
Many MANY BMWs of all types and ages are represented along with just about every other type of sports car and exotic you can imagine. They setup corrals for many car makes and BMW typically has one of the largest corals. If you want a chance to see 100's of a great cars, I highly recommend taking the drive to Limerock, CT. $20 on Sunday (yea, I know that's today).
On Saturday, my wife and I arrived at the Park around 1145, we headed over the bridge to the infield parking thinking we would just part in the corral for the day. One of the event volunteers tells me to follow him and I think he is just pointing me to a nice spot for my M3. I end up near the front of a line of BMWs (M3s, M5's, 330's, 335's, 850, 840, you name it). Next thing we know, they are directing us ON TO THE TRACK :excited: for a 4 lap 'show run', what a blast.....no racing, no passing, but what great fun for someone who has NEVER run on a track.
For those of us in the Northeast, there are not a lot of opportunities to track a car, even just a 'fun run'.
