hi, i have a alpine iva-d310 indash headunit in the specs are 80dBA (Ref: 1W into 4Ohm): 16W x 4, Max Power Output: 45W x 4. the question is i have the stock h/k system and was wondering if i should run the wires throught the alpine head unit or should i run it throught the h/k amp. thanks in advance.

Two options:

1. keep the HK setup (amp + speakers). Just use a wiring harness to connect the alpine's speaker outputs to the HK amp inputs. Don't expect any improvement in sound quality or loudness.

2. bypass HK amp, and have the alpine power new aftermarket speakers directly.

so the powering it with the alpine would be better then? could i power the stock speakers with the alpine head unit? one last question, lol my bad im not really good with all this stuff. if i get new speakers should i get a new amp to power them or running off the alpine headunit would be good enough.

OEM amp has the crossovers inside, so it is not practical to reuse the stock speakers. You would have to design/build custom crossovers for each individual speaker, which would cost more than a new set of aftermarket speakers that already comes with crossovers

Most people are happy with head unit power, so you could power the new speakers with the alpine. You can always add an amp later.
